It's hard to categorize his show, as it is both a news show and a talk show. And a comedy show, often satirical. His opening monologue and his closing "New Rules" segment are always about the current news. The middle part features guests, usually political experts or people who hold an elected office. Occasionally he has a musician or film star as a guest, but there's always a political element involved.I thought this thread was about the news shows. Isn't his just a talk show, a bit different? I never watched it, had to look it up.

Usually his slant is liberal, but he sometimes veers way over in the other direction. He refuses to be politically correct; in fact, he once had a show that he called Politically Incorrect.
Most of his guests are dressed reasonably, by the standards of today's celebrities, anyway. But occasionally he gets one who makes your eyes pop out. I think it sends mixed messages. How interested can you be in some bit of legislation she is promoting, when her skirt is so short that it might as well not be there?
