Feminism

Hi everyone!
I saw a thread about sexual harassment and radical feminists and my heart broke. It ended in a fight about "who is asking for it/ provoke it" or "nasty women who hate men".
Tough times for women indeed, but we can do better. We can start by looking at ourselves and others in a supportive way. We have to think that not all women hate men , as well as not all men are evil!
Positive vibes go a long way sweeties!

I want to show you all a beautiful poem that I found online, written by a THIRD GRADE little girl.

The True Feminine
"I am not sugar and
spice and everything nice.
I am music, I am art.
I am a story. I am a
church bell, gonging out wrongs
and rights and normal nights.
I was a baby. I am child. I will
be mother. I don't mind being
considered beautiful, I do not
allow that to be my definition. I am rich
pie strong with knowledge. I
will not be eaten. "

:eek:Hope this will make your day better!
Cheers everyone!

There are feminists and there are angry feminists.

I used to be one of the latter. I felt that I had been short changed by being born female is a world where the scales were always weighted in favour of boys and men. I was not imagining this and could tell stories of some examples where I was denied access to things that were readily available to males.

In my mid thirties I let the anger go and just got on with making the best of my opportunities. I am still a feminist in the sense that I will always speak up for the rights of women and girls but without the anger and resentment I am a much happier one.

My life got easier when I realized there's nothing I can do to change people who want to hang on for dear life to how they want things to be. I learned to accept that's how they want to be and it is not my problem.

What changed is that I got much better at spotting them quickly and not inviting them into my life. It's easy to give them a wide berth and otherwise ignore them.

the title of this thread reminded me of a silly poster I made, in another life;

Sorry, but I don't believe most of us need to be reminded that "not all women hate men" or that "men are evil." Frankly, those thoughts never enter my mind. Obviously, though, some women do hate men and some men are evil. And vice-versa.

You are most right, but I just wanted to write this down because some people do tend to forget. It's all about common sense and how you see yourself in everything at the end of the day

Honestly, I don't understand why is there so much anger. You realized that that anger will do you no good and people need to let it go in order to have a healthy debate. You can hurt people you don't mean with that anger. My advice is analyze it then you can move on. It is not worth the time

I agree with you completely. You just have to accept that it is out of your powers and just move on. As some wise men said once: "Let it go!"

@retiredtraveler have more faith in the youth. They are the future now and I do believe they can do this. The times are different
