It seems we constantly underestimate the number of stupid people among us.

What makes these people think this will win them new support? And who would want these people in charge of anything?

Stonehenge, one of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites, has been sprayed with orange paint by protestors demanding action on fossil fuels.

Maybe they'll just wall it in and add armed guards and high security airlock entrances like they do for the rich in those Toronto jewelry stores?

Unfortunately, PeppermintPatty, that won't happen,
our prisons are full up, they are talking about freeing
some prisoners early and the police have been advised,
to not charge too many people, till they get some space
to house them!!!!

Mike.
Not prison time. Make them work for a few months doing manual labour. Picking up road kill or something horrible. Listen to me. lol 😝

Certain lines shouldn't be crossed period. But people like this do for that exact reason. Attention and somekind of anti authority disorder. Regardless they are CRIMINAL vandals and should be charged to the fullest or most extreme possible. And reimburse the cleaning and restoration of those historical artifacts. If it takes a lifetime of tapped wages from working a real job so be it.

Selfish pos's. Their choice of causes and protest methods make them radical to say the least

And here I thought we in the USA could take a bold step to solve our problems by reuniting with the British Empire. Now I find they also have an over abundance of stupid people.

Maybe we should go back in history for some kinds of punishment.

Stocks, or something similar, plus the location would have to
carefully chosen, maybe their old school, or the church that
they attend.

Yes, i saw that yesterday, stupid AND hypocritical. What next? Some bizarre things come to mind that would not surprise me, but there are somethings i won't detail on social media no matter how unlikely it is that someone who might implement the acts would see it.

As strongly as i agree with their stated cause, they are going about it so badly. This is an escalation. They've thrown paint at esteemed works of art (thankfully most if not all protected behind glass) but made a lot of work for museum staff. Some have glued themselves to roadways which guess what caused the release of more fumes as traffic idled waiting for way to work or errands to be cleared. Have no sympathy for the injuries they inflicted on themselves with that one.

I much prefer environmental activists who organize cleanups of public spaces or just quietly go about cleaning up what they can, where they can.

Great point about the idling. They probably never think about that. Or the people that can’t get where they need to go.

If only they‘d do something positive to make their point that they care about the environment.

Yeah fair enough everyone knows it was big stinky diesel equipment that built Stonehenge. 🫢🥴
I'm still trying to get 'the connection' as I am with artists who passed over a century ago before oil based products were used on the scale they are today.

They are attention seekers. They don't care about their cause as much as they still care about their mommy and daddy issues.
