I haven’t updated in a while. Here’s the latest.
He’s healing well according to his surgeon. She’s very pleased with his progress thus far. They removed the splint and cast right before Christmas and now he’s in a boot. Still non-weight bearing though.
He has another appointment at the end of January to evaluate his readiness to begin using the foot again and putting weight on it. Meanwhile he’s managing getting around the house with the aid of a scooter.
He’s still in pain, but it’s gradually lessening. He’s frustrated at his lack of mobility, not being able to drive, not even being able to get outside without my help.
He’s diligent about doing the Physical therapy he’s been assigned, and has begun working out in our home gym again, with his doctor’s blessing and keeping the workouts to upper body and core, and a couple of modified leg lift type exercises. Frustrated that he’s lifting 10 pounds less than before the accident, but he’ll build that back eventually.
All in all he’s doing well and I’m proud of him!
