How does drinking alcohol stop you being bored?.. aren't you then just a bored drunk ?

Watching Judge Judy on CNN drinking scotch. Nothing better. 
I've heard about drinking black coffee to sober up, but wouldn't it just make someone a wide-awake drunk?

me too..and I cannot stand Judge judy
I'm so bored I should have gone to see my grandson at work today he works for the oil company as a derrick worker and bores holes into the ground. He stopped by to see us before he went home and told us his boring work stories. He works one week on and two weeks off doing 12-hour boring shifts. When he goes home, he needs a few days to enjoy being bored and taking it easy. Then after a week or so he might become bored and call work to see if someone is missing so he can return to do more boring work and make more money for he has a wife and a child.
