Finish This: I Don't Want To Be The Old Person Who_____________

OneEyedDiva, I gave you a LOVE, but I wanted to give you a HAHA, too, but it only allows me one! :)

Okay, my turn...

... mirrors that of a few old people I have known in my day.

I've faced that conundrum too Marg...LOL. :D So I do as you did. I'll chose one icon from the "Like" choices and put the other one in a comment. See...great minds think alike. :geek:

...only sits around doing nothing.

Unfortunately that's the course my mother has chosen. It was a conscious choice at some point but she's decreased her physical fitness so that's about all she can do now.

I also thought about saying "stop learning" but that's almost like doing nothing for me.

I don't want to be the old person that stops just inside the entrance to the grocery store to put away sunglasses, wipe down the cart handle, get the grocery list out of the purse, blow their nose, etc...

I don't want to be the old person at the checkout line that seems shocked when it's time to pay and then fumbles around for five minutes finding the money, putting away the receipt and the change, etc...

@Aunt Bea described me as well , we seem to encounter those type every time we go shopping .
We say to one another when it happens our ice cream will be melted before we get through the checkout.
We are both very independent that’s why we try to keep as fit as possible so we never have the need to rely on anyone in our old age

I don’t want to be the old person:
Who walks out of the men’s room with his fly open and toilet paper stuck on the heel of his shoe.
That becomes so disabled to take care of my self and find myself in some old nursing home.
I don’t want to die first. Selfish I know, but I couldn’t make it without my life partner.
Finally, I don’t want to become the old fart that can’t laugh at himself, now and then, and ever loose my humor.
