Have you started to receive your cards yet ? I had my first one from a neighbour today, a bit early for me to post mine yet I’ll probably do it next week, how about you ?

We usually don't get any. With social media being what it is, we get greetings via text, email, etc. However, I just sent 10 cards to:
A Recovering American Soldier, c/o Walter Reed National Military Medical Center 8901 Rockville Pike Bethesda, MD 20889-5600

for our wounded warriors

We are still "Old Fashion" when it comes to this. Sent out some 20 today. Don't get nearly that many back, but my wife sure likes sending them out. This time, which will be real surprise to those that we sent it to, we included a picture of us at Cheyenne Frontier Days, in Cheyenne, Wyoming this past July. All dressed in our Western attire.

We've had two so far, one from the Spousal Equivalent's 90-year-old uncle and his wife. As usual there was the 3-page Christmas newsletter that related, in great detail, the litany of medical and dental appointments and procedures in 2018, listed month by month with a certain amount of their friends' appointments thrown in for leavening, i.e. "On June 15, we had a visit from Bob and Betty Smith, who were our neighbors back in 1957. Bob had a heart attack in February and Betty had all her teeth pulled in March."

I hate to laugh about it, because I'll probably be the same in 20 years if I'm still around, but I just can't help it.....

I'd laugh, too. Why would someone think anybody (except maybe their mother) would be interested in a blow by blow of all their medical stuff?

Once upon a time, we sent and received around 30/40 cards, but that stopped once my other half retired. For the past 4/5 yrs. now, I've subscribed to an e-card site that has a nice variety of cards. It costs around $22 per annum.

Recently, I bought 4 cards. One was $8.99! The total was around $30.00. Then, there's postage. $2.50 for overseas.

I think I'll stick to e-cards.

So far, I've received 1 card from my insurance company. Normally I send out cards to the family the week before Christmas. Over the years, I've received some beautiful cards and place them in picture frames to display.

Just one, a big expensive looking one from my X sister in law. (I've only been divorced from her brother for 40 + years & he has been dead for 5.) with the Xmas letter about all the trips they took in 2018 & the ones they have booked for 2019. I have a few old cards left, hardly send any, any more. Should I send one? "Maybe I will, maybe I won't."
Hardly send any these days. Old friends are dead & young friends & family couldn't care less.

I only send paper cards to very close family..otherwise it's E-cards...

I received my first one about 10 days ago..from our church, but only 3 since..still early tho', and most people have stopped sending paper cards anyway..

My wife is the letter writer. She sends out 30-40 Christmas cards each year, each with a personal note enclosed. It's one way we keep in touch with family and dear friends who are hundreds/thousands of miles away. We receive a few less in return, but some correspondents are elderly folks from whom we don't expect replies.
