First Day Of Autumn - September 23, 2023

With global warming, Sept 23, is more like a technicality. Well, I guess it always was, since it's based on our planetary axis in relation to the sun. But, it doesn't feel like autumn. I'm actually looking forward to some cool weather.

I always look forward to fall with great enthusiasm because NO MORE HEAT! But you are absolutely right. Climate change is messing with us. We had unseasonably cool weather for the past two weeks with so much rain that there are still puddles after two days of pure sunshine! With so much unpredictability we'll probably be sweltering in the heat next week!

The Fall is my favorite season.

Golden sunshine during the day...crisp, cool air in the evening. Vibrant colors of nature everywhere you look. Jeans, windbreakers...wool sweaters. It's a prelude to Winter of which I am no fan, but while it lasts, I find Autumn to be magical. :)

Everything dry and partly sunny today, high of 15°C but currently 12°C. Read on MSN via weather app that there's "danger of life" due to floods in Scotland "...

This part of Scotland, so far touch wood, no floods, no rain, so wondering where danger is...

Hopefully, according to Farmer's Almanac, we'll be lucky and only have to put heating on from December. Katching... savings... these days and times, that's definitely good news.

Leaves have begun falling but I miss the reds, golds and browns of them turning at this time of year.

PS: bit of a shocker in shops today. Daughter and I are waiting to celebrate two major holidays BEFORE Christmas. Nope, the stores are already displaying all the Christmas paraphernalia and very little for All Hallows Eve (31 October) or St Andrew's Day (30 November). Youch!!!
