First of the month maintenance.

Started up the chainsaw and hedge clippers and let them rum for about 10 minutes.

No need to do the lawn mower and edger as they are getting used regularly.

Ran white vinegar through the coffee pot twice, then rinsed it by running plain water through it.

That will make the coffee taste better for about three days.

The A/C filters get changed every three months and the water filter every six so they are good this time around.

Defrag the hard drives, vacuum the keyboards and clean the screens. I eat at my computer every morning, so cleaning the keyboards is important. I have a desktop, laptop and three tablets, if you count the iPad as a tablet. I try to remember to do this the first of every month.

I ran my chainsaws yesterday...making sure they are ready to go sometime in October when I go into the forest to harvest the dead trees for Winter firewood.
I fire up the generator once a month and let it run for several minutes...just in case we have a power outage....last one was 5 or 6 years ago, but you never know.
I flushed the cooling system on the tractor last week, and filled it with new antifreeze mix....plan to do the car and truck sometime this month.
I gave the computer its semi-annual cleaning in early July...open the case, and vacuum everything...fans, power supply, heat sink, etc., etc.
I will change the oil, and filters in the mowers at the end of mowing season, then I run them for a few minutes every month to keep them ready for the next year.
I have so much "stuff" that there is some "maintenance" to do virtually every week.

I learned, a long time ago, that a little preventative maintenance can insure that something will work when I need it.

I seem to have a very uncomplicated life compared to Don M. No generator, no tractor, no vehicles of any sort, etc. But now if I can really apply myself to cleaning out the clutter in my condo, I'll be better off.

Actually, it's not real complicated....just gives me something to do regularly, and keeps me from spending excess time in front of the TV or computer...and keeps me physically fit with all my outdoor activity. Besides, if I lived in Las Vegas, I would probably be broke by now....living this far out in the boondocks, we limit our casino trips to one or two days a month.

We bought our first condo in 1987, haven't done any of that outdoor work since.
