First the Fires...Now, the Floods

The news today has been filled with reports of floods and mudslides in Southern California...in many of the same areas that had devastating forest fires last month. At last report the officials fear that there may even be people buried by some of these mudslides. With the rainy season just starting in that region, this may well become a major issue for weeks, or months.

I heard about that on the news, so sad for those affected in California. Either hell or high water for those poor folks, from wildfires, to drought, to floods and of course the horrible and deadly mudslides. :(

yes I have friends who live in California, so far they've not been directly affected by the floods or fires, but their homes are close enough for them to feel concerned at times, and of course have family or friends living in those areas.. California is so huge tho', that it's quite feasible not to be affected personally by some of these horrors, but I certainly feel for those who are...

The wildfires will just keep coming and there are side effects, such as destabilisation of the soil that most of us have been unaware of. I feel for the people directly affected but we, that is collectively the human race, have ignored the warnings about heating up the planet. We are reaping what we have sown, and still we ignore the obvious consequences.
