Oh, my. I'm so sad to see you have so much disinformation about what Easter means and who Jesus is and why He died for you and me.Sunday morning Easter service was a big growing up. Perhaps people felt by attending resurrection service would somehow appease god for sins committed previously in one’s lifetime as a last ditch effort for godly approval, never mind being an arshole the other 364 days.
Everybody dressed up in their Sunday finest as if Easter Sunday were a beauty pageant who spent the money for the finest hat and shiniest suit. Parents made examples of their children to carry on the tradition of fakery in character not necessarily clothing.
People attending, perhaps not everyone are there to celebrate Jesus’s resurection from the dead. For the past days according to the Bible was thought to be in the tomb he was buried in. However, no one knows where Jesus was until he revealed himself to a select few and then to his disciples.
The idea of Easter is to surrender yourself to Jesus and separate you from this world as a believer and upon your physical death you willl spend eternity in heaven. This is not something I would agree to do because what if I don’t want to be confined in heaven?
The reality of salvation is not setting christians up in golden mansions, instead you are being recruited to in a. final holy war between heaven and hell. You need not worry because iheaven s predicted the favorite, I am curious about the wounded, what will happen to them? Can a saved person given eternal life somehow die from supernatural causes in combat?
If there is to be a massive war between good and evil is it forever and ever running within a cycle to present itself over and over in a time loop? The bible mentions a new earth ruled by Jesus but I don’t see this happening, what will become of those people in heaven and hell? Remember they are members of the eternity packet for signing on to god’s promise to them.
The whole thing is farfetched and beyond what I am willing to support as truth. Christianity is widely accepted by intelligent people, why can’t they see what I see? I am speaking about my limited social circle who are church goers and claim to be believers. Every Sunday, it’s the same old thing, open prayer requests, special music, hymnals and the messages which are in constant rotation. When you are old like me and been exposed to Christiainty, church and teachings as I have, you notice patterns in all things related to Chrisitinity. Either no one sees these or fail to talk about theme in public forum.

You forgot the money it costs to support what you described.Every Sunday, it’s the same old thing, open prayer requests, special music, hymnals and the messages which are in constant rotation.
no contestOh, my. I'm so sad to see you have so much disinformation about what Easter means and who Jesus is and why He died for you and me.
This may be your opinion but it doesn't belong here.
He has EVERY right to express his opinion. Even I, as a Canadian, know that freedom of expression is specifically guaranteed under YOUR Constitution. You don't have to LIKE it, but you have to allow it. JimB. In Toronto.Oh, my. The Bible is a bunch of stories that explained morals, etc to people of the past that were largely uneducated. Now religion is big business and some people find comfort in it.I wish to add to my op. Logically I cannot support portions of the Bible or Christian dogma. I believe, based on life trials I am Christian. I’ve always been close and connected to life and everything as a whole as one. Sometimes closer to life than other time, connected just same. It’s a cool awareness knowing self In association to the bigger picture
