well we do have meatless hamburgers...
I agree.I am all for a plant based diet if that is what people want .....
however i have yet to find these substitutes that taste like the real thing.
Why do they need to process and add flavoring to vegetables to make believe or pretend it is meat.?...
I can not imagine all the additives and processing to LOOK like meat is healthy. not to mention in the process chances of food borne illness/ problems.
If a person likes chickpeas ( often used in creating these items) eat them.............. they do not have to be processed to look like a piece of chicken or something.
no one is adding flavors and shaping meat to resemble carrots or broccoli ....
I am really anxious to try this! Love the idea and the potential! (Besides, I'm out of canned salmon!)well we do have meatless hamburgers...
And you actually think the fake stuff is clean? Do you read and actually understand whats on the labels? I'll take a little pollution over all those chemicals.I hope it's as good as it sounds. Our fish swim in polluted oceans and little rocket man keeps blowing missiles into the sea.
I don't think anything yet. I have not seen any labels. And you actually think the fake stuff is clean? Do you read and actually understand whats on the labels? I'll take a little pollution over all those chemicals.
Fishless Fish
Oooooh that sounds good!!!I agree.
The meat substitutes that I've tried don't really measure up and IMO are overpriced.
I see them as crutch foods that help people transition to a plant-based diet.
Try chickpea of the sea.
1 14 oz. can chickpeas drained and rinsed, or two cups of cooked dry beans
½ cup diced celery
¼ cup diced onion
¼ cup mayonnaise or Italian salad dressing
a squirt of lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, or red wine vinegar.
salt and pepper to taste
Mash a portion of the chickpeas, combine with other ingredients, and chill.
Serve as a salad or a sandwich filling.
No, it doesn't taste like tuna, but it is good with a bowl of tomato soup.
Well, check yer 'crab meat'Um....do NOT mess with my fish......
Nope. No crab meat unless its whole chunks. I also prefer my fish whole or a fillet. None of that minced and pressed crap. Mostly, its fresh caught catfish or bass, some bluegill and an occasional rainbow.Well, check yer 'crab meat'
the Japanese have been making it and other popular fish for years
It's called surimi
Mainly processed fish guts
My son worked on a Japanese fish processor up in Alaska
Huge vats of surimi swill
Enough to turn one vegan
