Spare a thought for the zoos and wildlife parks that are in the path of an approaching hurricane.
Where do the animals go for shelter and how are they looked after and fed?

The massive equestrian center in Tryon, NC is taking in horses of evacuees. Bring the horses to them and they will take care of them.

The Central Florida Zoo is battening down. Zookeepers plan to stay with the animals through the big blow.

The local animal shelter here in my area is offering all pets for $25 and asking for people to foster animals during the crisis.

Most evacuation shelters here don't allow pets but there are some opening up that will let you bring your pet with you. Otherwise, I imagine there are a lot of people who won't go to a shelter if they have to leave their pet at home.
