Flooding in eastern Kentucky

This is the same storm system that flooded St. Louis just a couple of days ago. The damage in Ky. seems to be even worse that what St. louis sustained. And then, the news this morning said that some of Las Vegas got flooded by a freak storm.....what a Summer this is turning out to be.

I think perhaps ? Kentucky may be worse due to the more hilly terrain ? Limited run-off room/area ? As such it [the water] gets funneled into basically one area , and that increases the speed of the water as well as the depth....jmo
