Florida Breaks U.S. Coronavirus Record for Most New Cases in a Day...

Florida on Sunday reported the highest single-day total of new coronavirus cases by any state since the start of the pandemic, with more than 15,000 new infections, eclipsing the previous high of 12,274 recorded in New York on April 4 amid the worst of its outbreak.

The number reflects both increased testing and a surge in transmission of the virus that has strained hospitals, led to shortages in a key antiviral drug and amplified fears about the pace the state lifted restrictions on movement and commerce. And it is a new red mark on the nation’s floundering efforts to combat the virus.

(So sad for so many)

Then of course, there's this...
A local news channel in Orlando poured through the individual reports from labs across the state and found that an alarming number of these clinics are reporting 100% positive results with corona virus tests. This defies the running averages seen in most areas, which typically are 85-90% lower. The station contacted a number of the clinics reporting these wildly high figures with one of them announcing that their report of 98% positive results should have in fact been only 9.4%. o_O
Hmmmmm, could there be some shenanigans, (being a swing state and all) going on here?

What is the "local news channel," Squatting Dog? They poured through lab reports? Are they liquid news channels?

The word is "pored," honey.

And I'd love to know who this news channel is, that came up with such wild accusations against virus testing labs "across the state," because they're all involved in a political conspiracy?

Holy Toledo, you've gotta do better than that! 😄

It's pretty obvious that this virus is NOT winding down in many parts of the country. As the Summer weather affords more and more people the opportunity to gather in large groups, the spread of this pandemic will only continue to grow. A few weeks ago, some of the "experts" were predicting the loss of 250K lives this year....That estimate may quite likely be on the low side.

I'm amazed that there hasn't been a crisis in our hospitals with many of the doctors and staff coming down with this illness. If our medical teams start seeing staff shortages due to their becoming ill while trying to help others, the numbers will go off the charts.

Even if a cure is found within the next few months, the lasting effects will be substantial. Just think of what this virus is going to do to health care insurance premiums in the next year or two. It may take another "stimulus" of huge amounts to allow people to continue paying for their insurance....and Medicare will probably take a massive hit.

I'm sure it's a comin.

It's real. I happened to be watching our local news a few nights ago when I saw the report. It was on one of the main 3 stations (CBS, ABC or NBC), but as I flip among the 3, I can't say which. Even the Orlando Sentinel, which is as far left as you can get, reported on it. They downplayed it, of course, but it's there in black and white.

Sigh. That's what you took from that post. SMH

Thanks for the link JimBob. Must have pained that sentinal something awful to include the factoid that it was a local Fox channel that first broke the story.
I knew better than to Quote Fox 35 news in my original post as people who can't stand Fox would just tune it out. (right sunny?) (I can see you now with fingers in your ears yelling lalalalal) 😂😂
Once again... others see a headline somewhere and run with it rather than waiting at least 24 hours and then not ending up with cream on their face. (hint sunny). :D

In addition to the false reporting of positive cases, another rept. from the CDC honcho observed that Memorial Day and subsequent June weekends drew large numbers of people from other States.

I'm wondering New York, New Jersey residents?
