Flu shot

I need to schedule mine right away. Thanks for the reminder.

Debby, it's not the dying so much, it's how much you have to suffer before you die. The last time I had it, I got to the point I was hoping I would die. JK.

Yeah the suffering is the rotten part isn't it? The last time I had the flu, the virus got into my eye muscles (according to the doctor) and I was seeing everything double for about two or three weeks after that. That's when I started doing my yoga with my eyes closed which by the way does wonders for ones balance as you have to retrain your brain to a great degree. That came in very handy when I got vertigo and got dizzy from even opening my eyes at all :D so I guess one could say that getting the flu as bad as I did was 'good for me'.

I've had my flu shot with no problems, had the pneumonia shot a few years ago, I've never had the pneumonia booster, did not know about it.

Yup, the pneumonia vaccine is only good for 5 years, according to my doc and pharmacist. The new one I got this year is also supposed to cover more types of pneumonia bugs. I got mine when I got the flu shot.

Yes,going through a cold snap in SA too.

However re flu vaccine, best time to have it here is about April.

ETA - sorry, somehow read your post as saying in Sydney :whistle:

I’ve had the RSV shot, and the updated Covid vaccine. I’m waiting until October for my flu jab as I still want the protection active during the dead of winter.

Will get the flu shot in a few weeks. Just had Covid again last month so no updated Covid jab for me until November. I'm up to date on all other vaccinations: RSV, pneumonia, shingles. You name it, I don't want to get deathly ill with it.
