If so, I hope you will remain safe!
"Fiona, which started the day as Category 4 storm but weakened to Category 2 strength late Friday, was already "producing severe winds and very heavy rainfall" over Nova Scotia late Friday night, the Canadian Hurricane Centre wrote in an advisory. It was forecast to make landfall in Nova Scotia in the early morning hours Saturday.

The agency had issued hurricane and tropical storm warnings over extensive coastal expanses of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland."

Hurricanes are an annual threat to those living along the Atlantic and Gulf seaboards.....and, as the climate continues to change, the frequency and severity of these storms will only continue to increase. Those living in these areas must have an emergency plan, and be prepared. There may be another one forming in the Gulf that may impact Florida in coming days.

Nope. The storm's path is about 1500 miles to the east of me here in Toronto. My buddy Gary Elliott lives in Truro, Nova Scotia so he is tucked up in his country house with the gasoline generator fueled up and plenty of Yorkshire tea bags and scones to last him for a week. He was supposed to be racing his oval track stock car today in New Brunswick, but the storm resulted in a cancellation of the event. JimB. In Toronto.

Na! That storm is over on the east side (the Atlantic Ocean). I live in the middle of Canada which makes me about 1601 miles or 2576 km; the way the "crow flies." If you travel by car it's a lot more.

When I visited Peggy's Cove on a calm day, the waves were splashing like crazy. Can't imagine what it might be like when Fiona hits that area. Probably best, not to go fishing that day. Maybe stay home and have a couple of beers or whatever? LOL
