For The Love of Dogs

Hey folks... beware of milk bone biscuts these days. Apparently, they've changed something in the make up and my dogs were wretching up yellow crap after eating a couple. (this is new).
Then I noticed the red ones are now dull pinkish and they've added some yellow ones to the mix.

Thanks for the heads up👍👍. I buy the Milk Bone “Maro Snacks”. So far they seem ok, but whose to say🫣

Don‘t buy the vet recommended “Greenies”. Both my dogs had terrible gas on those dental chews.

The five star dental chews for my dogs were “Blue Buffalo All Life Stages Dental Chews”.

They are REALLY expensive. When husband could no longer work, I stopped buying them, but they are the best.

I guess this means putting my research hat back on to see what else is out there in terms of dental chews. I do a lot of shopping at tractor supply and they have a good arsenal of dog treats. The one they don’t have is blue buffalo; I have asked a time and time again if they would get that in, but to no avail.

When you see the daily recalls on food products for humans, it makes you wonder what they'd do to animal food. (profit over health is what drive's them).
There's no way anymore to trust what poop heads are putting in dog's food or treats. From now on, I will make my own with known... (to me) ingredients.

Try monitoring this with horse feed🤯🤯.

While moldy horse feed can sometimes be found during the warm months, killer horse feed is not common these days. But it has happened and horses have died horrible deaths.

Monensin is an ionophore antibiotic, commonly found in livestock and poultry feed, that poses a severe and often fatal threat to horses”.

The horse owner doesn’t know it’s in the feed until the horse(s) eats it, and it’s too late.

It has been fatally proven that washing out a vat used for ruminant feeds is not safe to make horse feed. Thankfully there have been enough big money people who lost high dollar horses, and had enough influence to step in and make the changes for the rest of us.

In the last ten or so years, feed manufactures have built their ruminant feed facilities and horse feed facilities either on separate land or at opposite ends of a piece of land.

didn’t mean to get off on a tangent, but this sort of thing happens with all of our animals, and we all have to be diligent and pay attention, just as you have😇😇

I took my dog to the park again today and let him run through the fields and along the trails off the leash. He did great! Then I took him to the dog park area where you're allowed to let your dog off the leash. He did great until a dog started running and he tried to herd it. He nipped at the other dog and it got spooked and nipped back. Nobody got hurt, but that's antisocial behavior on the part of my dog. He can't be nipping if he wants to go to the dog park. He was doing so good up until that point, too! Oh, well. We'll just need to work on that somehow.

When I've been getting ready to take him to a park, I've been singing "to the park, to the park, to the park, park, park" to the tune of the William Tell Overture. This morning, I was telling my wife about our latest excursions and I sang my little "to the park" song to her. My dog was laying nearby, and when he heard the song and he jumped up and came over to me with a big grin on his face. 🤣
