For the Younger Boomers, Lou Reed?

Warhol and his superstars were way ahead of my time. But Lou Reed was a NYC icon to the end of his life. I just bought a Mojo magazine. A CD plus interview with Laurie Anderson. The CD has "Kill Your Sons", I might add "Perfect Day".

I liked the song Perfect Day, Lou Reed had some good ones back in the day. This might be the most well known of his.

Oh LoL. I remember Walk on the Wild Side. In an interview he once said it was so edited for obcenity all he heard was, do do do do da do doo.

I was a big fan of Lou's New York album, and I tried to keep up with Laurie Anderson's work. They were a couple I would put on my wishlist of people to have dinner with.

For me he was also a style icon, the black nails, exaggerated eyes, a fitted leather jacket. Gotta give a morbid chuckle, my poor Mom. She grew up in the late 1930's. Here was her daughter imitating heroin chic. The Warhol print in my room spooked her too. I confess, I did buy Metal Machine Music. I did not have enough drugs to even begin to understand it.

I was just explaining to younger son. Rock n' Rollers in those days were tripping so far they were doing the drugs for us ya know?
