Forgetting the Obvious

I think we probably have all had the experience of looking for our sunglasses, when they're right on our head for example. Well, yesterday we were just about to leave the house for the dog park. I had my small backpack in my left hand, along with my house keys, holding the one to the front door between my fingers.

My husband came into the room and said he thought he lost his keys, but they were on the table instead of the usual place on the counter. I immediately, without thinking, felt into my right front pant pocket where I normally carry my keys, and it was empty. I excitedly, bug eyes and all, said..."My Keys!", "Where Are My Keys??"

My husband started to smile at me and I jumped, "No, I'm serious...where are my keys???"...he told me, 'in your hand?'...and I didn't remember that I was already holding them. :p

Well, just now for a laugh, I put the computer reading glasses on my head, my small granny-type reading glasses on the neck of my shirt, and I was wearing another pair on my eyes. I walked into the bedroom, and he got a chuckle out of it...or course he had to remind me of the key incident. :love_heart:

Keys were invented to go missing I think. They wander when we're not watching them and have Jedi like powers to cloak their existence on the kitchen counter in a mind fog of domestic blindness.. .... "These are not the keys you're looking for....". Diabolical things!

With 24 hours in a day, I think I spend 3 of those hours looking for my reading glasses everyday! And it's so stupid because I have about six pairs of the things or more. They are everywhere, every room, but I swear I'm always looking for a pair ...
mainly for doing my daily puzzles or on the computer ... sometimes I find them on my head too.

As for keys, not usually a problem, but I've lost them in the dumbest places. Old age is rough!
I guess the lesson is, always do a body search first ...lol

Self search doesn't count though.

Rumored to be considered as a new Olympic sport in the Summer 2016 games ...

I've lost several things not only for minutes but for decades - innocence, belief, hope and faith among them. I thought they were somewhere on my person, and I KNOW I had them at some point, but I just can't seem to find them now.

Keys and glasses are my cross to bear. I have also done the glasses on the head and around the neck, even having two pair on my head at once. I have them on the table next to my chair, on my nightstand, in the bathroom drawer, hanging on the kitchen pot rack, upstairs on the desk, in my purse and around my neck most times. Yet, when I really need a pair they never seem to be where they're supposed to be. I need to buy stock in a reading glass company.

The key problem is not an age related thing for me. This goes way back, and was usually associated in earlier years to locking my keys in the car, usually in remote places. Electronic entry keypads are my friends.

I have a huge problem of putting items in a safe place then i can't remember where i placed them

I am also famous for hiding things, such as jewelry. I almost need to hire a thief to come and find it, because I can't remember where I put it.

Rkunsaw..
You gals make up your minds. You were just recently complaining about body searches in Texas.

Never had an issue with body cavity searches under the right circumstances, no keys or glasses were ever found though.

I've done that, but not intentionally for a laugh..

This is definitely an age related loss...they used to call it jaded.
