What a joke...Looks like he"ll be out in 10 months hopping around again.

October 21, 2014 - Is sentenced to five years in prison for the shooting death of Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius will have to serve at least one-sixth of his sentence -- 10 months -- before he can be considered for parole.
 
The prosecution believes the law requires him to serve one third of his sentence, i.e. 20 months.

He committed a crime in South Africa and was charged and tried under Sth African law.

The trial was conducted very differently to the way it would be in my country but I do believe that it was proper under the law of SA.
I think the judge was diligent in following that law. While I would probably have judged him guilty of murder, the evidence presented did not establish intent beyond a shadow of a doubt so I think the judge acted properly within the law. The sentence was carefully considered too, within the law and taking into account legal precedents.
