Fox News and sexism

Since I do watch parts of FOX NEWS, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNBC, and others, I would say they are all about the same in content with most being a waste of time. Some are near neutral politically, some to the left, FOX NEWS has folks from the left and right broadcasting. The program in the link exposed is of both left and right leaning folks. The heavy set guy in the back, Bob, has left and is replaced by other left leaning folks. The do get changed occasionally. Sometimes more than one left on during the same show.

This hate FOX NEWS is sure not warranted and not true at all. Much of FOX NEWS is just similar to all the others. Rain storms or forest fires, politicians traveling and saying, sports, boring game shows, movies, trivia. Most of TV is boring as all get out so for me it just does not get much attention. On much of the day but only as a background to another boring day in Arizona's heat season.

I watch some of Fox news daily myself, but since this thread is specifically talking about sexism on Fox news, do you think the comments made about that heroic woman pilot in the video I posted were appropriate and warranted? Or did you agree they were incredibly childish, offensive and sexist? I think you would agree with me that they were sexist, but I may be wrong. After watching both MSNBC, Fox and other news channels over the years, I have to say that Fox is known for sexist comments and degrading women in general, much more than any other news channels out there.

So disgusting to reduce a brave female warrior to breast status. Mysogyny at it's finest. Dismiss it as just anti Fox News rhetoric, my ass. Time for some to stop being afraid of strong accomplished women, and flush the good old boy network. Evolution is a good thing, please come down from the trees!

Do you have a favorite news source James?

I watch channel 10 in Phoenix which is a purely non-political FOX affiliate, I watch CBS, I watch CNN and off an on I watch ABC. I am a news junkie. Between the internet and TV I watch about three hours per day. I never watch MSNBC Or FOXnews. You can call me Jim.

By not watching FOX NEWS you have no complaints then about FOX NEWS channels presentations. You know that FOX NEWS also has some far left programs and participants? They also have some rather far right folks with shows also. And all the in between levels too. You must just be going with hear say and other such undependable nonsense. Of which there is plenty.

That film that showed was pretty much all OK for me. But I think it was Greg that may have made the poor comment. But he is constantly in what he considers a comedian state. Not much he does on FOX NEWS as I remember but he does have his own radio show. I don't think FOX NEWS corporation made such a name for the lady pilots of the world. Most of the guests at that table spoke well of that particular pilot. And Juan Williams is now the more left type that is filling in for Bob, who has left.

There is John Stossel on week ends and his shows are not of left or right types of topics that I have ever seen. He is more of a independent type, I think.

Also there are special shows run on week ends by Geraldo Rivera. His routine and comments is of leaning left and more so depending on the subject. He sometimes fills in for the left seat on The Five.

I think FOX NEWS tries to give us all a nice cross section of political news and ideas. But FOX is much like NBC and others and have plenty of right and centered broadcast as well. Unfair to pick one or two channels that do push right ideas and then blame the entire network for that one trend.

"Hate" really doesn't accurately describe my view of FOX, it's more of a disgust with the childish, low-brow focus that is prevalent on their show.

Come on folks, grade school was swell, but isn't it time to start using our heads for something other than a hat-rack?

If you don't like a particular FOX NEWS show, say so and give the name of the show. Far too much of FOX NEWS is good, professionally presented news casts, financial presentations, and other topics programs. Just like NBC and other channels do. Most TV of whatever channel seems to be very poor and boring to watch, so I am often clicking the controller looking for something worth while to watch. Pretty much nothing worth while to sit and watch. For me, THE FIVE, which is the program that showed the lady pilot, is one very poor program for anyone to watch. The have left and right speakers every day. It is usually just following a loose agenda and speech is mostly free form from all being part of the show. Often something that I don't watch due to it's format and loose control over the speakers. Other programs are much better and really give us some good news coverage about events, finances, legal, whatever they choose to do.

NBC is rather lousy to watch. I start each morning with NBC news. But not long after they start the news portion is over and they go off into performers and entertainers and I move on to doing what I had planned to do, which means no watching TV.
