France to replace the words 'mother' and 'father' with 'parent 1' and 'parent 2'

I think one reasonable option is, instead of Mom & Mom, call them Mom Sue and Mom Becky. Often, grandmas and grandpas are addressed that way; why not parents? But Parent 1 and Parent 2 just sounds ridiculous. That's as bad as calling your kids 1 and 2.

I think maybe we're all overthinking this. The original post did say "official documents," not that children in France would be required to call their parents by any particular name.

Will the bible be revised to accomodate the change? Will God be relegated to # 2. Or since immaculate conception was how the story goes would all references to Mary be changed to #1.

God can be whatever people want him/her/it to be. There are religious feminist groups that have gone through the Bible and changed all references to God to be female. She instead of he, etc. Seems kind of silly to me,
but whatever.

Except that the God the Mother group was in the U.S. I went to one of their religious services, so I know this exists; I'm not making it up.
