Full State lockdown

The numbers NSW are getting are more than a bit scary, 466 cases today and more deaths,
so it’s quite obvious many still continue to disobey the stay at home laws.

Stay safe @Tish @Warrigal
We are holding our breaths in SA hoping we don’t end up getting it here again we currently have zero cases

Don't worry. I am staying at home, away from everyone including family and friends, We are lucky to have a house of our own with a pleasant back garden where we can sit in the sun. Spring is starting to appear and there is plenty to keep me busy trimming some plants and preparing gardens for new plants.

I order my weekly shopping online and I'm cooking all our meals including home made soups, cakes and pies. No takeaway for us.

The only visitor we have is the woman who comes fortnightly for a light cleaning service. She wears a mask and so do we. We sit outside while she does her work. Very covid safe.

Hubby and I are also double vaccinated now.

After seeing the thousands that disregarded the 'rules' it had to happen. I hope there is no air travel, (unless absolutely necessary) between our 2 countries for sometime.

I am keeping myself at home too.

We live in a normally quiet town actually I live 3.5 km from the nearest town however as soon as we have a long weekend / Easter / Christmas or school holidays we get heaps of visitors.

I used to volunteer at one of the top tourist spots here that partly involved selling tickets for a mini tourist train, I was selling up to $500 a day in tickets with the train driver taking in excess of $1.000 a day for tickets that cost $8 each for adults $4 for children ( I believe it costs more now ) , so it just shows how many tourists we get in holiday periods.

The nearest town has a population of about 5.000 with many seniors / retires so if we was to get an outbreak here I’d suspect it would kill many residents in and around our area .

I think twice before going out anywhere despite not having cases that we know of here ( we have to wear masks inside any public premises / shops) .

However I was born in New South Wales in an fairly isolated town which is about 500 km from the nearest large city of Adelaide and despite no recorded COVID cases in Broken Hill NSW traces of the virus have been found in their waste / sewage water.

I have family still living there so it’s a concern

The sewage can tell us there is a problem in an area before anyone starts to develop symptoms. With the delta variant this is very helpful as a warning to take extra care to avoid becoming infected. I heard today that people who do become sick in BH will still be able to be air lifted to hospital in Adelaide. That is good news.

Yeah, my daughter in Tamworth just sent me a message saying they have found the virus in their sewage as well.
