Fun with the blues. (Color that is).

Last Friday in 90F+ heat while passing through Monterey County on my drive home from LA County, stopped at an area with nemophila menziesii, known commonly as baby blue eyes, a California species, British plant explorers really loved due to their exceptional sky blue petal color. A phacelia species.

Although I worked a few subjects, all were almost impossible to post process due to a slight breeze making post process, focus stack blending impossible. Although the above tiny downsized for web version looks fine, at full size, there are mis-registration issues impossible to fix. Am considering driving the 2 hours of 125 miles, back there starting pre-dawn Thursday as wunderground weather forecasts show a sunny mid 70Fs calm morning. A bunch of other aesthetic species along the highway there too for close-up photography work. Against that notion, 250 miles round trip is 10 gallons of gasoline or over $50.

Interestingly, a few feet away from where I set my big tripod down at, I noticed something ruffling the vegetation and upon a look saw a small young Northern Pacific Diamondback Rattlesnake escaping.
