A guy is driving on the freeway in the carpool lane. For people living where there are no carpool lanes, it's a designated lane on the freeway for use only when there are at least 2 people in the car. Driving in that lane alone is a violation with a big fine. Of course, some people do it in heavy traffic.
So...a guy who works for a mortuary is in the carpool lane. A police officer pulls him over because he can't see any passengers in the car. Yup...you guessed it. The driver was transporting a dead body - as his passenger.
The news played the video of the traffic stop. The cop was so amused, he didn't write the driver a ticket; he was laughing so hard. He told the driver, "Your passenger has to be still with us to be considered a passenger."
Well, technically, if the cop wrote the driver a ticket, & the driver fought it, I think he'd win. As the law is written, it doesn't say what condition the passenger has to be in.
