$2.65 here but then.......where have I heard this one before(yawn).
Ouch!
Here in Pennsylvania, our Governor saw fit to raise gas taxes to pay for road and bridge repairs, which were well needed. Our current gas price in my part of PA is $2.79 per gallon. I have heard from sources on CNBC that gas prices "may" level off or go down a bit after the refiners after made the switch to producing all gasoline. However, if oil prices continue to rise this will not be the case.
It's not funny, but when I was flying for United-Continental, I would always check our fuel supply before takeoff to determine weight. I used to think how lucky I was that I didn't have to pay the fuel bill for flying one of these mega-planes. Our maximum amount of fuel was around 24,000 gallons, or approximately 160,000 pounds, if completely full. If I was flying, I would need to do an exact calculation because weight is a very important number in determining takeoff speed.
I paid $1.69 two days ago. It was actually $2.59 but I get $.90 off per gallon due to my Safeway Member card credits.
What are you all complaining about? Yesterday I filled up at 119.9 cents per litre, which on conversion, taking into account the exchange rate, works out as US$4.54 per gallon. This was actually a good price.
