G'day from terra.

Woo-Hoo !... it looks like I've become a worldly traveller by signing up to this "International" forum for old farts. :)

Seriously, it's a big step for me going from "Seniors Helping Seniors" in Australia.... like many of my mates there, we've been seeking an alternate forum since the announcement that our site is closing down 1st August.

So good to see so many familiar names here... now I don't feel like the new kid in school.

You are right rkunsaw.
We are invading, just like all those gums trees we sent over as an advance party.
Be very afraid.

:topsy_turvy:

Ozarkgal, Did you see this? It was the Aussies who planted all these sweet gum trees. We must retaliate. I'm thinking of sending them some poison ivy. No, wait. Let's send them our government. That will really mess them up.:devilish:

I was thinking kudzu, but our government would spread faster and be far more destructive. Their only hope of being saved would be to let their wildlife loose on them, since it's widely known that Australian critters are all either poisonous, carnivorous or just bat-shit crazy.

Welcome, Terra! ;)

Hell yes! Send them, our current crop of mental midgets would eat 'em alive.
They're currently dining on each other and we're running out of them fast. :D

Any with a shred of honour or dignity have snatched their payouts and quit, or are not contesting the next election.
The only ones left to entertain us via the media are the most vicious, most egostistical, and the morons who couldn't possibly find employment doing anything else.
Oh happy days everywhere eh? Want to swap??

Now about those gum trees.... I 'heard' it was your own fault. Gum tree seeds are about the size and weight of a speck of dust and when an American ordered a couple of pounds of them he didn't realize that was enough to cover about half the continent.

They look a lot better over there than here anyway. You don't have the bugs that make them look scraggy here. Want some bugs to go with 'em??

So sorry for not thanking you all for a warm welcome sooner.... been busy for a few days with my part-time (old farts) work.

It's all good now with the weekend coming up... I'm going to put my feet up and step into cyberland to cruise this great forum.

It all started with Cap'n Cook. He started spreading them eucalyptus trees around the world. Came to California when they wanted timber . . . HA. That's a sad joke. Then, they were used as wind breaks and are now just a great fire hazard. We call 'em "weeds".

Welcome, Terra! ;)

Phil..what have you got against the Aussies? I wouldn't wish our current government movers and shakers on swamp creatures from outer space!

Welcome Terra..glad you joined us even if your country is responsible for those blasted sweet gum trees. How would you like a nice big box of genuine Arkansas sweet gum balls for a welcome gift?:D:playful:

You're a very funny mob.

Not Cap'n Cook. It was Captain Bligh of the Bounty fame who used to plant trees and release goats when his crew went ashore to get fresh water. And the trees were always fruit trees. He was thinking to save ship wrecked sailors of the future. He nearly needed them himself.
