Gentle posts for gentle folks

There's also the sort of upside down gratefulness.

Such as, that they don't badly mess up every single food order.

One, they brought me a huge heavy plate of delicious food, that I completely am unable to eat!!!!!

I sure am grateful they don't do that for every meal!:cautious:o_O;)

Stories from hospital life:

One evening I heard a sound that I couldn't identify, which got louder and louder .... still couldn't Identify it, and was trying to keep myself calm.....

A nurse entered room for unrelated reason...

I asked her what that could be....

Wow...
she said it was medical helicopters landingplatform, on this tower....

that seemed so great to me that the helicopters land right here, from doing rescues in rural places all over the region.

Yes, of course we're sorry that anyone needs one but it saves so many lives!

It's wonderful that it exists!

Kaila..I;m here...I'll be watching..... 💐

Please don't mention life's hurdles too loudly, around here , ;)
Or the P.T. and O.T. Willl want to add several Olympic hurdles to my routines, and then additional 5 or 6 more , every single day!:giggle:

On a serious note I am really concerned about the low quality of the rehab facilitates. Trying not to worry.

medical helicopters landing platform
Oh Kaila, same thing happened when I was a patient at Yale New Haven!

It was daylight and I could see it starting it's decent to the tower below mine. A nurse had also come in and I told her I felt so sorry for the patient inside the chopper.

She said it could very well be a heart or a lung coming in for a person who was waiting in another room and who needs it so badly.

I've been a member here for at least a few years.

Now going thru one of life's largest hurdles.

My life changing so dramatically in 2 weeks time.

I hope that some of you, might like to accompany me on this journey of mine, in whatever gentle ways that are right for each of you, while on your own paths.

From a hospital bed, I write this, today.

Thank you for reading my first post on the diaries section of S.F.
You are on a path that we all must take. Some people handle it with relative ease. Find that way and then teach us what you have learned. Or take us along with you one day at a time. That way you won't be alone and we will all be wiser. ❤️

Hope hospital life isn't too dull for you.

A friend and I recently went to visit her mum in hospital. Her mum is 92 and although she looks frail, her mind is as sharp as ever it was.

Anyway, we arrived to find three nurses searching mum's bed, the bedside table and chair because, apparently, mum was claiming that they had lost her dentures. My friend's mum has, over recent years, lost quite a few of her teeth but, always refused to have dentures. As the nurses scurried off, laughing over the search for the non-existent dentures, my friend turned to her mum who was sitting on the bed, arms folded with a little smile on her face.

"Mum! You know you have never had dentures. Why waste their time, they are very busy you know"

Mum grinned. "Well, I didn't want to shout 'toilet' did I! I don't want everyone to know when I want a poo!!":)

Bit cheeky but, it worked! With three nurses in attendance, they not only searched for the teeth but, took her to the toilet, changed her bed and brushed her hair! So, I'm not suggesting you do the same thing but, you know, if it gets a little boring and you want to liven the ward up .... ;):ROFLMAO:
