Gentle posts for gentle folks

Hello lovely people.

It seems to be getting cloudy again as usual but no rain is expected.

@Kaila you're making great things happen today Well that's good I hope you enjoy yourself today and not get too exhausted

@Pam you made me laugh when you described the condition of your Old Maid cards. I just threw away a pack of Uno cards. Nobody's played with them in years. I'm glad you have Rocco for company.

My physical therapy guy just left a little while ago. I shocked myself.... he asked if I wanted to try just walking with the cane And I walked all over the place with it, plus I got up off of the chair without holding on to anything three times. My biggest thrill today was that I walked upstairs.... of course he walked behind me. I was thrilled to see my washer and dryer again! I went to my closet just hanging onto things like the dresser and the wall and I took out two tops that I wanted and he carried them downstairs for me.

Going downstairs was a different story. I was absolutely terrified, but he said I did very well. Okay so now I'm done bragging for quite a while.

Spinach and ricotta pie again for breakfast. I've had enough of it. Took a small container out of the freezer for supper. I don't even know what it is! :ROFLMAO:

I hope everyone has a good day, have some fun, a few laughs and be safe.

So happy for you in your great progress! 🥳💪

That meme is hysterical!

@Medusa
I was very sorry to read about that upset you had with the therapist. I hope it continues to seem even more totally resolved for you.

@Rossana
I hope the other vet has an excellent suggestion for your dear Elsa. Keep us posted about that.

I've been a member here for at least a few years.

Now going thru one of life's largest hurdles.

My life changing so dramatically in 2 weeks time.

I hope that some of you, might like to accompany me on this journey of mine, in whatever gentle ways that are right for each of you, while on your own paths.

From a hospital bed, I write this, today.

Thank you for reading my first post on the diaries section of S.F.
I hope you are doing better and continue to get better and better. Blessings.

@Pam
I too, found your story about the cards very amusing. You sure did need to replace that deck.... now!.... since everyone else was winning with the old one!😁😆🤣🥰

Also it was funny about your frozen container of food for supper, that you didn't know what it was! @RadishRose

Do tell! 🤣😂🤣😂😊🥰

I wanted to reply to your question, about my p.t. plan, you asked a few posts ago,
@RadishRose
And at the same time, to share a little more with all the rest of you.

I still do need more p.t.
And it's likely to be longterm for me.
How far longterm, I have no idea.
Part of the explanation is that last autumn I was in the wheelchair all the time ... and i was having increasing problems with the transfers in and out of it. Then, i fell 3 times, and could barely move , in late November.

So I had a long way back, in order to get the functions I can now do. I've made so much progress it is truly amazing, but there's more that I hope to make. Both the physical aspects and the neurological.

I'm thankful to have found the right type of p.t. specialist to help me!

Good morning Kaila and friends! Yep, I'm doing great, Kaila... yesterday got away from me, and I'm expecting another busy one today, but that's okay. :giggle: Anything exciting happening in any of your worlds today? (Going to the dentist doesn't count! 😄)

What? The dentist doesn't count?
Why go then?
😁😄😆

Oh well today I am going to the oral surgeon. That's worse than the dentist in my mind. 😬
Going to get 2 large teeth extracted. 😒

Getting myself ready, and saying good morning to all of you dear people.
🤩🥰☺️

I'm home from the oral surgeon and doing okay, all things considered.
Slipping bits of coffee ice cream into one side of my mouth. 😊
Where there's a will, there's a way.?
🙃🫠😄

Plus, @Medusa
Had recently pointed out the good sense to giving ourselves a treat after difficult challenges.
And this experience does qualify for that.
🤩😁🤣

I'm watching a large Blue Jay outside my window, at this moment. The bright colors and patterns of the feathers on the wings and tail are vivid and striking.

Please Excuse me while I go to get an ice pack. 😉😊😆

I bet you're glad that dental visit is over and done with @Kaila!! Enjoy your icecream.🍦 Sorry for short reply, damned computer space bar is playing up. I really really must make an effort to buy that new laptop. 🙄😆

Have you narrowed down the selection?
To the one you want or to a few?

Have you narrowed down the selection?
To the one you want or to a few?

Yes, it's between two. I did go and look at them last week so I must really make a decision! The computer I use now is one that my son's partner gave to me when my old laptop gave up the ghost a few years ago. It has a lovely big screen but it's not a laptop therefore has to be stood on a unit in this room and I don't like that as my house and this room is only small and I don't like seeing the computer on display so to speak. At least with a laptop I can sit where I want and close it down and put it away at the end of the day.

I will get round to it....sooner rather than later. :cool:

Feeling a bit low this morning. :( I hadn't heard from an old friend for quite some time and was getting concerned because the last time we 'chatted' (long distance, as she lives the other end of the country to me) she had been undergoing tests and was awaiting results. Well she messaged me this morning to say that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkinson's lymphoma. She's undergoing chemo etc. and not ready to talk on the phone at the moment, which I fully understand.

It's just knocked me for six a bit. I first met her as a teenager in Kuwait and we hung around together for a couple of years then her parents decided they were moving back to the UK. We were such good friends and knew we'd miss each other so she asked me if I wanted to live with them in Wales, which I did for 4 years until my parents came home then I moved back to England.

We've kept in touch ever since, met up a few times but mostly it's been letter writing, emails, phone calls etc. and we both belong to a site on Facebook for 'kids' (ha!) who lived/went to school out there.

I'm going to take Rocco out for a walk and that should clear my head a bit.

Oh, @Pam, that is so sad. :( I'm sorry.

Good morning dear Friends.
@Kaila , wow, I didn;t know you were wheelchair bound and took 3 falls. You've been through so much. Now, you're on your way to great improvement and I so admire your resolve!! How's your mouth? I hope it heals very soon.

@Pam so sorry about your friend. Hoping for the best. I didn't know you lived in Kuwait....so interesting. Yes, I agree with laptops.

@Medusa, I went to one hockey game in my life and it was very exciting! Not at all like tv.
