Gentle posts for gentle folks

Yes, it's between two. I did go and look at them last week so I must really make a decision! The computer I use now is one that my son's partner gave to me when my old laptop gave up the ghost a few years ago. It has a lovely big screen but it's not a laptop therefore has to be stood on a unit in this room and I don't like that as my house and this room is only small and I don't like seeing the computer on display so to speak. At least with a laptop I can sit where I want and close it down and put it away at the end of the day.

I will get round to it....sooner rather than later.

Yes I'm sure that you'll enjoy a laptop much more than the other type that you've had long enough Pam. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š
I hope you'll manage to get one soon, that you'll be very happy with. 🀩

Feeling a bit low this morning. :( I hadn't heard from an old friend for quite some time and was getting concerned because the last time we 'chatted' (long distance, as she lives the other end of the country to me) she had been undergoing tests and was awaiting results. Well she messaged me this morning to say that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkinson's lymphoma. She's undergoing chemo etc. and not ready to talk on the phone at the moment, which I fully understand.

It's just knocked me for six a bit. I first met her as a teenager in Kuwait and we hung around together for a couple of years then her parents decided they were moving back to the UK. We were such good friends and knew we'd miss each other so she asked me if I wanted to live with them in Wales, which I did for 4 years until my parents came home then I moved back to England.

We've kept in touch ever since, met up a few times but mostly it's been letter writing, emails, phone calls etc. and we both belong to a site on Facebook for 'kids' (ha!) who lived/went to school out there.

I'm going to take Rocco out for a walk and that should clear my head a bit.

Thinking of you as i read your sharing post, and I'm sending extra caring to you, Pam.

She is a very dear friend of yours for such a long time. I hope she'll do well with the enormous challenge.

And I hope that your outdoor time and with Rocco did help to calm your spirits.

It's wonderful to see all of you here.

My mouth is gradually healing from the 2 extractions, yesterday, and I would be in recovery mode.

Well, I'm in recovery mode with the adjustments to eating and meds, but I needed to go with dh to a medical appointment this morning.

It had a few different parts to it and I found it more difficult than he did. πŸ™„πŸ˜πŸ˜Œ

The combination of my muscle and brain issues makes most outings very challenging for me to get thru. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

In addition, the results they explained were mixed and not what I wanted to hear. 🫀

Ah well. I'm thankful for what I have.

Which includes.....
Coffee ice cream in the freezer.πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚

Good morning, Kaila... and good morning to the K-posse! Pouring rain here right now, but considering it's been doing that throughout most of May, it's just commonplace now. Any special plans for today? I'll be heading out for groceries in a few hours. Can I pick up anything for ya'll while I'm shopping? One thing will have to be coffee ice cream... a little birdie tells me that Kaila ate it all!

I've been a member here for at least a few years.

Now going thru one of life's largest hurdles.

My life changing so dramatically in 2 weeks time.

I hope that some of you, might like to accompany me on this journey of mine, in whatever gentle ways that are right for each of you, while on your own paths.

From a hospital bed, I write this, today.

Thank you for reading my first post on the diaries section of S.F.
Hi Kaila,

Thank you for sharing such a personal update with us. It takes real strength to open up during such a tough time. Please know you're not alone we're here with you in spirit, and I’ll be following your journey with care and support.

Wishing you healing and peace ahead. πŸ’™

What a lovely rabbit @katlupe. How is yours doing?

@Kaila, stay positive. You have my prayers for this!

@CallMeKate , ditto about the rain.

@Jules I like your ice cream suggestion. I would also stick a warm brownie under it.

@Pinky , love your message!

@Bobby174 , Welcome! your post was very sweet.

PT yesterday, OC comes today. DS here last evening; took out trash, picked up Rx.

Everyone....

Good Morning, Kaila and Friends. πŸ€— :coffee:🌻

Rain is called for here today and we are under a flood and tornado watch. Nothing serious, it's just precautionary, but it's going to make my walks with the puppy a bit sloshy. β˜”πŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸ˜¬

@Kaila, glad you got through the appointment with husband okay. Hoping things work out on the better side of the news. You have a great attitude.

Coffee's on.

Thank you for asking. There is quite a long list....πŸ˜ŠπŸ€©πŸ˜πŸ˜†

I did not finish the coffee ice cream, because you hadn't told us yet, that you were heading to the grocery store today.
(And that you will pick up everything we all need. πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ˜‚)

Please add the necessities that were pointed out above by @Jules
The chocolate syrup and whipped cream.
😁

And cat food!πŸ˜Šβ˜ΊοΈπŸ™€πŸ˜ΈπŸ˜Ή

Good Morning, Kaila & Friends! A rainy Saturday morning here in NY. I am enjoying it with my window open right now. No real plans for today. Hope you all have a lovely day!

Thank you, katlupe
And that's a lovely painting. I like the images and all the tiny details.
I wonder....What is that hanging from the necklace on the bluebird?
A locket of some sort? Or something else?

It's also interesting, that the artist selected dandelions for the plants, out of so many wildflower options .

Good morning to all of you!πŸ™‚πŸ€©πŸ˜ŠπŸ₯°

Thank you very much, for the understanding reply. πŸ₯°
Both of us are gradually processing the new medical info from yesterday's appointment, and adjusting our thinking on that issue.
Plus, I am extremely worn out. I hope that my therapies will enable me to progress further.

Thank you, katlupe

It looks like a Christmas bulb that you hang on a tree.

Dandelions are one of my favorite wildflowers. Plus the rabbits love them. Eating the whole plant from the root, the leaves, the bud before it opens and the flower.

Good evening to all of you.
Today I rested a lot, which was surely needed after the past few days!
My mouth is gradually healing from the extractions on Thursday, and I'm learning how to chew very soft foods while at the same time, keeping them over on one side of my mouth. Mostly. :giggle: 😁

It rained here most of the day, as it did for many of you.
The next few days are expected to be clear and beautiful.

I saw an Eastern Bluebird out my window today, among the feeder visitors. Nuthatches and goldfinches and a Blue Jay.

Hope it’s a good morning around SF land ….. we’re all probably getting a taste of Spring/Summer.
Locally, we are getting directions and instructions for Hurricane Season now ….. had a program on TV last night reminding us of last summer’s hurricane miseries.
Like we need to be reminded.. duh.

I enjoy looking for any wildlife outside too @Kaila … when I see an occasional Butterfly, it just makes me happy for some reason.
