Gentle posts for gentle folks

We oversleep when our bodies need more rest. Try to not feel bad about sleeping longer than you intended - medical experts caution that too little sleep affects seniors adversely.

You're right about our bodies taking the sleep they need; your kind thoughts compel me to admit that I overslept because I stayed up reading a steamy romance novel. I need to learn to put those down and go to sleep. 🫣

Good Sunday evening Kaila and friends
Glad to hear that your pt went well @Kaila
@StarSong - sorry to read about you getting Covid again. Does the virus weaken every time you get it? Sending you extra πŸ₯• carrots πŸ₯•
@Madusa- do you not walk your dog when you walk your husband to work or did I read that wrong?

to you all.

Good Morning, Kaila and Friends. πŸ€— :coffee:🌻

I managed to wake up and get out of bed on time today so, good start. 😎🌞

The weather here in the Mid-Atlantic has been lovely the past several days, relatively cool and a little breezy. It appears as though summer is admitting defeat and leaving quietly.

@PeppermintPatty, it is a very short walk from our home to my husband's work and I enjoy walking with him, chatting a bit and wishing a good day in the parking lot. Lucius' walks are longer and take a different route. So I walk with my husband to his work and then go home to grab Lucius and take him for his first walk. :)

@StarSong, hoping you're doing alright today and not feeling too bad with this round of Covid.

@Kaila, how are you doing this morning?
----- Most romance novels are required to end with a HEA (Happily Ever After). It's a thing. The really good ones take the reader on an emotional ride, and I suppose it is nice to know that things will turn out in all right in the end.

@CallMeKate, I loved your message this morning, a groovy, no-challenge Monday sounds wonderful. πŸ€—

Sending many πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯• to all of you!

@StarSong, have you don’t the regular boosters? I tend to do every other one. We’ve had a few outbreaks at the hospital and seniors’ homes but that’s never defined how bad or how many.
I get every booster, but am highly susceptible to contracting Covid for reasons unknown.

My most recent booster was May 16th. I do believe the vaccines and previous infections have protected me from worse bouts. My first bout, late December 2020, was a doozy that left me using asthma type inhalation meds (Albuterol) for 12 weeks. The second, May 2024, was also a very rough go. The third, August 2024, was less terrible. My current case is the lightest symptom-wise by a long shot, at least so far. 🀞

Given my apparent susceptibility, I'll continue with all recommended boosters. If I'm going to catch Covid whenever a few virus particles drifts by me, I'd prefer a light case.

I hope you are all having a good day.

@Kaila, fingers crossed all goes well with your hubby's appointment.
@Medusa, I love your morning routine of a couple of walks. Great way to start the day.
@Pinky, how are you feeling?

I'll be checking in now and then throughout the day. Getting sick sure does free up a body's schedule, doesn't it? I'm doing a lot of reading, watching TV/movies, and cruising the internet.

Hope you soon feel better @StarSong. I've only had Covid once and it was quite mild, thank goodness. I still keep up with the boosters though.

Had a short walk with Rocco in the park this morning, didn't want to push it too much with my knee so it was a gentle stroll really. The park is only a five minute walk away.

Here photo of the cenotaph ...which you can just see at the top of those steps... we did not walk up there today!:D

@Medusa - that’s so sweet. I knew you walked your dog. Your dog probably has it better than ours when it comes to walks. They sometimes get 2 walks but usually only get one 45 minutes minute walk. Thanks for answering. :)

Sharing today's excellent news with all of you here:
One of husband's serious ailments was nowhere to be seen, at his appointment, today!

They'd warned us it was likely to return, but it's been 2 full years now, and it hasn't, so far.
