Gentle posts for gentle folks

Thank you, for that comment above, on my determination,
@RadishRose
I sure am trying, to improve more if possible, or to maintain.

I agree that the grocery prices are alarming.
Is your grandson and family coming, this weekend?

Did you make some soup?
Which type was/is next up?🤩

We made Chicken broth, this past week. Had not done that in a while.
He wants to make a pea soup sometime soon.

Hi Ruthanne, it's always good to see you.
Thanks for dropping by. 🥰

I'm doing okay, and I think of you often too, and hope for good things for you as well. 🙂

The nights have become chilly here. Is that happening in your area?
Yes, it is cooler over the night. I like it compared to the smoldering temperatures we had before over night. I could go for this daily weather all year long. It's getting like Fall here.

Good morning @Kaila & Co. It's a bright sunny morning, if a little bit breezy. I had a grocery delivery earlier and after I'd put everything away, I went for a nice, slow stroll around the park. Not doing much else today, youngest son coming round to put a couple of pictures up on the wall for me. I'll just watch/supervise.

Here's a few photos from yesterday's outing. They're not brilliant, taken with my cheap phone and I didn't have my reading glasses with me so it was a case of point, click and hope for the best. lol

As you will see, Henry VIII graced us with his presence.

Good morning, Kaila & Pals! It's a gloriously cool Sunday morning (44 degrees F) and my favorite time of year starts tomorrow! Tomorrow is also U.S. Labor Day... who's grilling our K-Posse picnic burgers 🍔 and dogs 🌭 ? I'll bring Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Icing. (Bet y'all thought I was going to say Carrot Cake, didn'tcha?!) :giggle: Everyone feeling well today?

@Pam thanks for the pics, they're great! lol @Henry!

Good morning all.....🥰🥰🥰

@Kaila Yes my grandson and family are coming this afternoon and I did make my soup.

Onions, carrots, celery, garlic, chopped tomatoes, shredded cabbage, chickpeas, chopped kale, chopped spinach and chicken broth. I'll make tiny soup mac or maybe quinoa on the side. Then add.

Thinking maybe lentil soup next.

It's a beautiful cool sunny day here.

@StarSong - I wanted to know the story of how carrots became a theme in this thread but all you share is the date it all started. WHY did carrots become a theme? Note: I even went back to June 8th ( page 100 ) but found nothing about carrots. The main discussion for the day was whether or not members liked sushi or not.
I quoted Kaila's post. Maybe it didn't come through on your browser?

Good Morning, everybody .. I hope you are all well, and in fine fettle 🤗

Just waiting for daughter to pop in for a visit. We plan on picking up dinner later, from a Japanese restaurant. We cherish our time with our "girl", as she may be moving sometime in the future.

Still fighting off the tail end of this long cold ☹️

@Jules ..... It is free for locals. Anyone outside of the town is asked for a donation of just £2.50 but most locals would happily pay that anyway rather than just go in free. There is a shop just before you step into the Abbey grounds where you can buy all manner of things, too numerous to mention and that money will go towards the upkeep of the Abbey itself. As for the Iron Shepherds Living History, who provide all the different displays/crafts etc., they are funded through a combination of membership fees and local business sponsorships as well as grants from the Furness Community Lottery and other local authorities.

My photos don't do it justice. There was a falconry display, brass rubbing, hog roast and mediaeval games for children to play. Lots of crafts.

You must live somewhat near the North Pole, with the morning temp like that one, Kate!
Are you there to apply to be a helper for later on during the Br months? :sneaky:😄
Please say hello from all of us thread-friends,
to you-know-who, and his Mrs.

Oh, I meant to say that grilled chocolate cake with PB frosting, sounds great!😸
