Gentle posts for gentle folks

If you have a subscription (Walmart Delivery and Instacart) it is an annual fee of around $100. for the year. On Walmart Delivery there is no fee and just a tip if you have the subscription. You can choose not to give a tip if you want. I usually give a tip of less than ten bucks depending on how much I buy or the weather. I shopped in person yesterday because I had to be out anyway and wanted to buy a good amount of meat for the freezer. Instacart has a small fee ($2.99 or something like that plus whatever tip you choose or not).
 

Thanks, all... yes I did get 'there and back' all in one piece @Kaila. Actually, it had stopped raining by the time I left but it was still very windy. It's the sudden gusts of wind that can get to you though. However, as ever, we didn't get it as bad as the northern part of the county. It's eased off a bit now and - if the weather forecast proves correct - it should start fo ease a lot more as the day progresses and we'll be down to a moderate breeze... we shall see.

Anyhow, that's flu jab done and dusted. Next will be appointment with the optician in two weeks time so I've got a bit of a breather. :cool:

Now I need to look online at ironing boards, I was just folding up the ironing board yesterday when it fell apart. :rolleyes: It was only a cheap one, perhaps I should look at a better quality one this time.

Here's hoping that it is just a temporary flare @Kailaand not a total backslide, very best of luck with therapist on Monday. 🥕 🥕

Walmart doesn't have a lot of the specific foods we are used to.
We have other stores where we can get more in one place.

Our usual grocery store actually encourages tipping, (twice) with amounts, in addition to the delivery charge. @Jules

It adds at least $30, like @CallMeKate
With pressures for more.
Which I'd love to pay, if i could.
Or if the groceries were not already too high priced for our income.

However, when the winter ice comes, it might be necessary to have them delivered.

The fish market does deliver, too.
We did do that last winter.

Are you forced to pay the tips because you don't have to. If I could afford it I would but I can't. I also don't have a car to go shopping.

I moved my p.t. to Tuesday, late morning, because the therapist has Monday opening.
I hope I'll have the strength and stamina to go to p.t. the following day after that appointment the previous day.
My stamina difficulty is an issue and my recent mobility is still low, but I need to try for both.
 
Good morning @Kaila and co. Very dull and overcast here but at least it's no longer windy and rainy. Yes @Medusa, all up to date with my flu jab, same as your boyfriend.. hope the storm has finished in his area too.

Forgot to mention, when I got on the homeward bound bus on Saturday, an elderly woman struck up a conversation with me. She proceeded to tell me that she was looking for members for the senior club she attends. They play bingo, not for money but for a bag of sweets (candy), someone sings to them etc. She went on to tell me who to contact and that a taxi would pick me up. She repeated the same thing over and over again so I am thinking she may be in early stage dementia.

I sat and listened and smiled but it was very difficult not to laugh when she repeated over and over again that they needed new members because 4 of them had died recently. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

When I reached my stop, she said she hoped to see me at the club.... cat in hell's chance of that... but I just smiled and said I'd give it some thought. :cool:

If I do go to delivery, I am definitely going to add a tip. I've seen some people who deliver for Spark, which is WalMart, talking on Facebook about the difference in treatment when someone tips or doesn't. If orders "mysteriously" get mixed up or things are missing, it's not always necessarily an honest mistake. 🤬

There's a difference whether people admit it or not. I haven't done grocery delivery, but I've seen it a few times when I'm on a road trip. There's a restaurant that I use for curbside pickup when I'm traveling. First time ordering there, I didn't really know what I was doing and when ordering online, chose "no tip." I pulled up and called the pickup number. Waited about ten minutes, and part of the order was missing. Second time I chose 10% tip. Got all of the food but had to call to tell them I was there... waited about 8 minutes. Third time (my recent trip) I marked 20% tip, and I kid you not, the dude was *waiting* for me to pull in and ran out with my order and a huge "thank you!"

Once again, good intentions wasn't enough, and I haven't been here in a while. Life has been keeping me busy, and honestly, I've been feeling rather gloomy and have hardly been online at all.

Today is a better day, so I wanted to pop in and say hello to Kaila and friends! Now, it's time to get my day started!
