And that you enjoyed the entire outing.
Do you order new updated glasses, at that same visit and location?
Does your newspaper have just a few of the puzzles, in each issue?
Or is it several or more?

How often is there a new newspaper, if you know what I mean?

Opticians visit went well. I have to go regularly for check ups because my mother had glaucoma. Fortunately, I got the all clear on that, also no macular degeneration. In general, my eyes are healthy... so that's one thing about me that's good. No need for updated glasses this time but when I do get them, yes I choose from the selection they have in the shop.

Re the newspaper, I think part of it is habit. Initially I bought it because it came with a magazine which contained tv guide/recipes/various articles etc. as well as the crosswords and word games. TV guide not required nowadays and the magazine has certainly dwindled but there are about 6 or 7 pages of word games and a few sudoku ones too (which I don't do). I only do them at night time in bed so they last me from Saturday to Saturday. The same newspaper does do a daily one but the Saturday one is enough to keep me going.

I love the unique way that you word things, Medusa, when you respond for me and for others. Thank you for being here, when you are. No pressure.

I've been getting a little more rest and sleeps, than I was getting.
Which is good; However, I'm still in a significant setback, which I'm finding daunting .

At least, this year, I do have medical providers helping me, ; That is something that i did not have, last autumn and winter.

Plus I also now have this incredible and priceless group of supportive caring people on this thread, which i also did not have last year,
that is, until I reached out on sf, in December of 2024.

The response then, was heartwarming, and life- changing I'm sure.

I thank each one of you, who responded last December;

plus a warm, sincere thank you to those of you who have added Posts and supportive reactions, during the months since then.

Today i am going to another in my series of long dental appointments.

We all agree those are no fun.

But it's important to me, so i am determined, and going.

The dark clouds parted, and heavy rains have gone, so it's a clear, beautiful autumn day, out my window.

There was a mishap with my prescription and consequently I will be without my HRT for a day, which sucks and I'll probably feel it in two to three days, but it can't be helped and won't kill me so I'm not going to worry overmuch about it.

@Kaila, glad that physical therapy went well yesterday. Positive vibes for your dental appointment today. You are badass, girl! For real. Good for you for doing the hard things to take care of yourself.

@RadishRose, LOL! I thought those were mini muffins of some sort! Your dessert offering this today looks much better, I have to say.

I find prescription mixups, extremely frustrating. Most all of them are really easily avoidable.

That is, if it's the pharmacy or the Dr office that mess up.
Not if it's me or you!!!

But really, for a 3 month supply, they give literally 90 days worth.
Duhhhhh......

They don't know that a lot of months have 31 days????

I was planning to kick the dentist, instead of bite her;

(I thought it would be more subtle, and she might think it was her chair assistant who kicked her... not me)

But when they sat me up at the end, the dentist had already disappeared.

Gosh, had others kicked her in the past?

Have you many more dental visits @Kaila? I'm so glad mine are finished until the next check up! As you know, I had a tooth removed at the hospital a couple of weeks back, all went went but then last week I started getting a bit of pain and swelling. At one point I thought I might have to go back to the dentist for antibiotics but I carried on with the salt water rinses and also applied a cold compress... and it has worked!! Swelling and pain all gone. Thank goodness.

Pleased though that you @Kaila managed to get through your dental treatment without kicking the dentist.

Just received message to say my new laptop will be delivered this morning between 11 and 12. Not sure when I'll get it set up, might have to be the weekend when I don't have Rocco here to distract me. I'll be glad when it is set up as this computer is really on its last legs.

Hope you're okay @Medusa, with missing your HRT.

Best get off now and take Rocco round the block before my laptop arrives.

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends.

Well, my husband, who I swear is a wizard , managed after much seeking, to find a pharmacy that had one pack of my HRT and he went out in the evening to grab it right before they closed.

For context, fluctuations in my HRT can cause some very unpleasant symptoms so I try to make sure to order it as soon as I’m eligible.

But I didn’t have to miss even a day of my med. My husband rocks the freaking holiday armadillo! I mean, I was ready to miss my med., had my head around it, but thanks to him, I didn’t have to.

But really, for a 3 month supply, they give literally 90 days worth.

OMG, Right!? And worse, with HRT Meds. they give you 28! Twenty-eight! They do become available on time, but just barely so it's tight and problems like what's just happen can arise because of it.

@Kaila, you got through another dental visit! Woot Baby! Huh, maybe the dentist was late for lunch? I've noticed that too, that they do seem to leave the room quickly, leaving the finish-up for the assistants. S'okay with me as long as they do a good job and use lots of lidocaine.

@Pam, glad your pain and swelling resolved with rinses and you didn't have to go back to the dentist. That's a relief!
