Gentle posts for gentle folks

Good morning @Kaila and all from a cold but sunny corner of north west England. Got a grocery delivery due between 10 and 11 so I'll take Rocco out as soon as he gets here, which will be any time now (08.30). Got my woolly hat and gloves at the ready. Youngest son is coming round for dinner about 1ish - early finish for him today.

His lordship has just arrived.....catch up later. Hope everyone is well as can be expected. 🥕🥕🤗

Yesterday, we got to dh's doctor appointment.... and for his lab work....
It all went okay.

Today is a collapse day for me. Whew.I need one.

Tomorrow I have a long dental appointment.

There was a very hard frost, visible this morning. Yikes. Full arrival of winter.
Long ago,I loved winter, but none of the reasons still apply. 😐

@Pam glad you liked the jelly. That's Richard Sales....I get a kick out of him.

I actually did make a nice pasta sauce (small) w/ some Italian sausage. There's a little in the freezer now.

Feeling lazy but there are things that need doing, so I better get started before long.

I have, I think, found my project. I've done a lot of sewing in my life, but I've never made a quilt. I'm going to make a quilt and infuse it with witchy intentions so it will be a healing and protection charm as well as something pretty to keep warm with. It's going to take a while as I plan to take my time and enjoy the process. Started researching fabrics on Etsy yesterday. Yay, fun. :cool:

@Kaila, glad your husband's appt. and lab work went okay, yesterday. Enjoy your collapse day. 🤗 (I may have to steal that phrase.)

(y)(y) Now that is all kinds of awesome!! I've made a few, but never a full size. One of my prized possessions is a quilt my grandparents made for my high school graduation gift. Best part is that I watched them make it... both of them worked on it with her old treadle sewing machine and what a sweet memory it is!

I've made a few child-sized quilts. One was for my daughter and featured panels of nursery rhyme characters and the other was a baby gift for when one of my nephews was born.

Your daughter's quilt sounds like something she could keep for her children. :)

I made a bed spread of sorts once, for my son when he was younger, with the Pac Man playing surface and all the characters. I made it in black and sewed the travel areas with glow-in-the-dark thread. But that doesn't count as quilting, I know. Closest I've come till now, though.

I'm really pretty excited about this project! :)

@RadishRose , There’s always time later to make the ham & potato soup. One day I know you’ll get it done. For those wondering what I’m talking about, it’s from something she said in another thread.

@Medusa , I wish you luck with your witchy quilt. Etsy is a great place to buy material for it. I’ve always wanted to make a quilt but I doubt I’d ever finish it.

@CallMeKaty ,I’m always open for a beach trip. As long as I can bring my dogs. The quilts you made sound lovely.

I've finished the second Lucius walk and the day is otherwise on track. :) Started watching Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 with boyfriend yesterday. Two episodes in, I can say it's pretty good, thus far.

@Kaila, good thoughts for your dental appointment today!

@Pam, I'll definitely pop up some pictures, if not as I go along, when it's finished. :giggle: Nice walks with Rocco today. 🐩

Hey there, Kaila & Gang! I had to do errands today but needed to wait for a rare weather phenomenon to clear up. There was freezing fog here this morning. I would have thought it was too early in the year for that, but apparently not. Now I'm in for the day. Don't suppose any of you know how I could hibernate until mid April? 🤭

Whew,I survived my day, and I now have a break from all dental work, until February.

My day goes well, thus far. Husband is off today and we'll likely catch a game tonight. Boyfriend and I are still enjoying Squid Game: The Challenge. I'm getting back into some of my beloved PC games (Delicious Emily's is a fave) and I'm still researching fabrics for my witchy quilt.

@Kaila, wonderful news about your well-deserved break from dental visits for a few months! Phew!

Hello, friends.
Today was meant to be a rest day for me, but there are challenges that often come up suddenly.
So those were addressed, the best I could, while worn out from the week and from yesterday's appointment.

Must stock up groceries tomorrow, Saturday. Including fish, and farm veggies, plus our staples.

I'm thinking of each one of you.
I'm sure that you too, have challenges and difficulties which i care about as well.
