Getting tired of hearing about crazy gun guys.

This is the second time I was writing about crazy gun guys. The first was this morning, but I figured we already talked about crazy gun guys. So I deleted it. Well, this crazy gun guy didn't get to wipe out a classroom, but he tried. We will do whatever and spend whatever to stop terrorists, in the US from killing Americans. But, we just have to live with crazy gun guys. Nope, nothing we can do about them. Both are killing Americans. The terrorist has the alphabet soup of agencies tracking his every movement. As for the crazy gun guy, well of course, there's nothing that would indicate he might do some killing. He just stabbed three people, shot off guns at all hours, had restraining orders, which prohibited him from having a fire arms. But as Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston, said,"The law is only for people who obey it."
My point is both are killing Americans. One group we will track to the ends of the earth. The other, the crazy gun guy, we are expected to learn to live with. Like the terrorist, the crazy gun guy is giving signals of their intentions. Our laws and organizations are designed to capture terrorists. Let's change our laws and organizations to capture crazy gun guys.
Politicians are going to give the "our heart and prayers go out" speech. If we can catch terrorists in the US, we should be able to catch crazy gun guys.

I think terrorists, at least the classical definition of them, are much easier to profile even from just a physical appearance standpoint, let alone their participation in certain political and/or religious groups.

When you attempt to profile the crazy gun guys, what do you use? "White male, aged 19-75, average height and weight, jeans and sneakers".

Half the population will be under investigation.

The FBI can do composite profiles and distribute them to local LEO's all over the country. Then to US! The local LEO's probably won't do anything, however. People have tried to tell them about many of these potential shooters...nothing done, for the most part.

It seems to me, that in the vast majority of these mass shootings, in recent years...there has been ample signs of some mental instability in the shooter. However, we have become so "politically correct" that no one wants to step up and report or question the individual. Even when one of these individuals is obviously unbalanced, or has a criminal history, the local agencies don't seem to want to "stigmatize" the person by reporting him to the FBI or ATF, etc. We used to have mental facilities, where these people could be isolated and hopefully treated...but that, too, seems to have become "politically incorrect", so now these lunatics either wander the streets, or get thrown in jail...where they become even worse.

I'm in discussions with gun owners and I keep telling them there is a mass murder killing children and innocents and there's a big hullaballlo about it but then it all dies down and it's business as usual.

And I get raked over the coals because I don't live in the U.S. but my family and grandson does and I have concerns for them.

I think it's time to stop making the same mistakes and expecting different results.

The weapon of choice in these mass murders are the semi-automatic military style rifles.

Change the focus on the shooter. That's never going to work. Take away the weapon. Ban the AR-15 style weapons.

I don't think anyone needs an AR-15 for hunting or for self defense. For target shooting. Fine. Take your weapon to the shooting range and leave it there.

Here's a list of what I am talking about.

All involving mass murders and semi automatic military style rifles.

Aurora, Orlando, Las Vegas, Sandy Hook, Umpqua CC, San Berardino, Sutherland Springs, and the latest in California and just waiting for the next one.

In this particular crazy gun guy shooting, multiple complaints by his neighbors that he was shooting off hundreds of rounds inside his home were filed. The police politely knocked on his door, but he didn't answer, so they left. If this were a "terrorist" suspect, would the cops have just walked away? Both the terrorist and the crazy gun guy are posing threats to the safety of people around them. I'm sorry, if the mere calling some one a terrorist merits police involvement, why in the hell do we need a body count to stop crazy gun guys? Aren't both killing Americans? A guy shooting off hundreds of rounds in his house, and anybody walking by could be gunned down poses no problem, so the cops have to wait for a body? But a suspected "terrorist" gets a gun, and we're busting down his door?

The thing to remember. Terrorists don't have the same rights as citizens. That's those who were not born in the U.S.A.

Unlawful arrest and you get sued and the book thrown at you.

Where I live it's against the law to shoot a gun within the city limits. It's a city by law.

At at one time you could hunt within the city limits. Now you can't. At least not legally.

In this country it will continue until something happens to stop it. I don't know the answer but all the intelligence agencies are working on it. Sometimes people also don't see the obvious.

There's no way we would have known about this crazy gun guy. He looks like everybody. Well, he did stab three people. He's been threatening to kill his wife. He has multiple protection From Abuse Orders. A judge called him a "menace". He was ordered to never have a fire arm. But the cops knew he was shooting hundreds of rounds INSIDE his home. I'm no gun guy, but I think you need a gun to shoot off rounds. The cops did go to his home. They did knock on his door, but he didn't answer, so they left. To be honest, if I were one of those cops, I would have left, too. He WAS a crazy gun guy. But there's absolutely no way we would have known this guy was a crazy gun guy?
