Getting up in the morning..

Usually, it involves a trip to the bathroom! :eek:nthego:

Since I stopped working I need to have a few loose plans that give me a little something to look forward to each day.

After my husband has had an hour or so to soak in the morning TV news I like to stumble into the living room and sit on the couch by the dogs and drink a second cut of coffee. My husband usually brings me my first coffee in bed. I don't like to get up early and get hit with the morning TV news and their gloom and doom.

Thinking of the interesting projects I'll be doing that morning, or a tree job I was hired to do, that I need to get on by 7:30 AM. Up and at 'em!

My dog Pickles gets me up...too early but the thought of him peeing in the house is what gets me out of bed quickly.

Then I look forward to coffee and breakfast...I eat dinner early and don’t eat anything after that and I’m starving by 4:00 am.

On Saturdays, breakfast gets us both up, but I'm generally the first up. The population of our area dictates that we get up at 8AM and are at a restaurant by 9AM, at the latest...…….or there will be a wait, and not a short one.

Since my wife really isn't a "morning person" and has a hard time waking up during the week for work, we both set our clock alarms.

coffee-- throw a load of clothes in the washer--shower-- drink another cup of coffee---eat breakfast---i have to work arround every ones schedule

What makes you want to get up in the morning and start your day?

Usually wake around 4A, to pee

While peeing, I decide whether or not to stay up, make coffee, and bug the hell out of old people on SF

Or

I’m wakened around 2 or 3 by a large noise, like something enormous clomping across the porch

Then I wake my woman to go see

My day starts around 10 or 11 of a winter morn

Bed covers are more appealing when it's 0° F

I am sooo with you! He gets up early and immediately turns on the news show. I cannot take the "talking heads" that early. Besides, we are on the opposite sides re politics, so it generally leads to a disagreement about what's being said.

I'm a nightowl, so I tend to sleep in unless I have to get up early for some reason.

I don't need a reason to get up in the morning except to say it's mainly because of the sleep pattern of when I go to sleep and when I wake up. When I still worked I would mostly wake up at 4:30 in the morning and write and answer some emails while I have coffee. But back then I woke up at that hour because I had a job which made me have to be there on time.

These days, being retired, I wake up later than 4:30 because I don't have a time restraint, but I keep regular hours. The very few times when I did oversleep, I felt like hell the rest of the day. Even when I get insomnia in the night, I still get up at the regular time, tired or not.

I get up around 8:30 but if I am reading or listening to a really good book until the wee hours of the morning it could be as late as 9:30 or 10. I'm also more inclined to get up early if I have a project I'm doing.

I have to get up to give my dog her pills and feed her. Happily, she takes herself out to do her business via the doggie door (that doggie door is a GREAT thing).
