God is a hologram....

"[FONT=&quot]What else the superhologram contains is an open-ended question. Allowing, for the sake of argument, that the superhologram is the matrix that has given birth to everything in our universe, at the very least it contains every subatomic particle that has been or will be -- every configuration of matter and energy that is possible, from snowflakes to quasars, from bluu whales to gamma rays. It must be seen as a sort of cosmic storehouse of "All That Is." "

Hi Hangover,

Okay, to be honest, I've never shared these thoughts before and I'm not an articulate writer, so be patient. (grin).

The only thing I'm 100% sure of, is that I'm not 100% sure of anything.

It's not that I think any of my off the wall "theories" are facts, but I don't discount the possibility either.

I go with the premise that while what our scientists have proven to be true, these things are only true within the limits of our current knowledge and I think most intelligent people would agree there is more unknown beyond the outer limits of that knowledge.

So with that said, here I go - please don't send the men in white coats (grin)

I do believe there is some sort of governing force(s) beyond our understanding and in control of more than our known existence(s). I don't believe that any human knows what or who that is. The only documentation we have in that regard (to my knowledge) are the religions books, Bible, Quran, Book of Mormon etc., and the information in them goes way back to where I cannot see it as reliable, my reasons for that are too long, and probably another subject entirely; suffice it to say they have been translated and interpreted so many times from so many different languages that I find them unreliable.

Personally, I believe the soul, or spirit, is our actual "being", our physical bodies are simply a vehicle to house the soul.

I believe it's possible that time is not as most of us understand it, that it's possible for our soul to exist in multiple times/ages/locations at the same time. When our physical body dies, the part of our soul that was housed by it simply moves to another existence. These existences may or may not be in the world as we know it. Since we know there is more than just the universe as we know it and we know that our knowledge is limited, we can have no idea where are soul's parts are.

I have occasionally wondered if we were pieces in some sort of game that our governor (God?) is playing, that we were some sort of test a theory - if so, why not a hologram?

Bottom line - I think anything is possible.

In the bible it says that everything was made for God's good pleasure. Looks like God really is having a great time.

Hangover, you've made me want to haul out my copy of The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot.

I do believe that the universe is a hologram, and that hologram is God.

If you print a hologram onto glass then break that glass, each piece contains the entire image, though in lower resolution.
We're each pieces of this holographic universe.

Now, where's my copy of that book so I can remind myself of why I ended up believing this...

I do not know that the existence of a hologram proves the existence of God. It is possible to demonstrate a possible source of two dimensions in a black hole, but there would also have to be gravity far out weighing the gravity in a black hole. So one problem with this hypothesis is that the universe continues to expand. Also, the final point in a black hole is a singularity. This is what the information on the side of a black hole becomes. Three dimensions consist of height, width and depth. The fourth dimension is space/time. Now, due to the Cern accelerator they believe they have discovered a 5th force. In addition, theories of multiple dimension are still in use, not to mention string theory. There are objects that consist of only one dimension.

It would help if the 2 dimensional theory did not try to invent God. It is not impossible to believe a two dimensional space exists. If it is a hologram is could exist at the edge of our universe. But it might be more of a reflection of images than the image maker. There are other issues but I have already said plenty here.

The link didn't mention inventing God in any dimension. In the bible it says that God created ALL things seen and unseen. Hence the universe. The "God particle" "Boson Higgs particle" is the particle that gives every atom its mass...with out it there is no mass. Hence God is in everything and everything is in God. That is my observation in my quest for seeking the truth....I am content.

Yes, I agree. I have found it is not always important what we believe, but it is important that we just believe in something. This is odd. Even atheist believe in atheism. We talked before. I should have remembered this at that time. Whatever your beliefs are, enjoy you life.

I had to give up my "beliefs" to find the truth. I found that believing is not knowing.

I agree with that except that I replaced old beliefs with new ones. In my case, I do not have faith that God exists, I have proof that God exists and know that God exists. There are plenty of others out there who know God exists. The problem is we have no way to transfer that knowledge other than by relating anecdotes.

I know about quantum physics and about many death and return to life stories. The quantum physics stuff you presented does not prove the existence of God. The author assumes the existence of God and uses quantum physics as substantiation that God exist. This proof of God does not follow from the evidence presented.

The stories about God or Jesus, or whatever was experienced by dying patients is only anecdotal evidence. Only the person telling it can know of the existence of God. This is the evidence I spoke of in my case. I know that God exists but cannot prove that to you by telling my story.

I do believe there is a physics related phenomena that does offer the possibility that God exists. Quantum mechanics states the possibility that we live in an infinite set of futures or multiple dimensions/universes. If there is a probability that something can exist then it is likely to exist in at least one universe.

It might be possible to create a "working definition" of God. If such a definition is created this definition would become a probability and therefore God would exist in at lease one universe. If God exists in one universe then God may exist in all universes.

We could say that God is an all powerful force that is connected to all of us through a field of consciousness that permeates the universe. Then we would ask is something like our description possible. If the answer is yes we know that God does exist.

I only presented the links to show what science is saying about proof of God...because it seems to me that science ends up looking for the truth, as I am. There was someone that said that science disproves the existence of God. But those links say different. Doesn't mean it proves it to you, or to non-believers...it's just that the statement about science disproving God is inaccurate.
