Good Food Slicers

I'm thinking about getting a food mandoline (slicer); I want to try making oven-baked potato chips. This is probably the only thing I would use it for (I've got a small cheese slicer that works great for cheese but wouldn't for potatoes), so I don't want to get an electric one unless those are the only good ones. Any advice?

Well, here's the one I bought:

It's called the Prepworks by Progressive Adjust-A-Slice Mandoline; I got it from Amazon and it cost $14.67 and I love it! So easy to use, clean and store and the blade is super sharp. (I've used it 3 times but only cut myself once, that's good for me. ) The clear plastic thing in the last pic is what you can use to hold whatever you're cutting, the bottom of it has "teeth" that grip your veggie or whatever pretty good.

How ironic, I was looking at one at Marshall's today; decided that I probably would not use it.
I know, that's exactly what my Huzz said when I was thinking about buying it, lol. But this has been the easiest to use, clean and store of any kitchen gadget I've bought for a long time. So far I've only sliced potatoes and cucumbers with it but have found it really easy to use (the handle on it seems really sturdy too).
