A few weeks ago, I was helping a neighbour clean-out his shed.
He inherited the house and he wanted to get shut of all the junk.

We found some old rusty iron objects and Tom was about to chuck then onto his trailer to get rid of them, when I realized that they were a complete set of sections for a 'tree seat', and, in a tin on a shelf we found photographs of Tom's Aunt and Uncle sitting on the very same tree seat.
The tree disappeared many years ago.

Tom has now had the iron sections shot blasted and given a specialist paint treatment.
He has now erected them together in the very same place that they once occupied, together with a new tree in it's centre.

I'm going round there later to have my picture taken sitting on the seat with Tom and his Missus. 😊

What a find!!!!!

The company that shot blasted our tree seat offered Tom £300 for it, but we, Tom and me and others have inspected the seat very closely and discovered the makers name and date (Coalbrookdale 1921). The youngsters have been googling like mad and they reckon the seat is worth possibly £1000 or even more. It's almost too good to sit on, but I did..... well, now I'm part of it's history. 😊
