...same age as me... wow, far too young...

May he R.I.P

The legendary gangster actor passed away on the Caribbean island halfway through recording the movie about a sailing holiday spiraling out of control.

It is not yet clear what he died of or when but there is understood to be no suspicion of foul play. He leaves behind his fiance Jacy Nittolo as well as his daughter Karsen.

Tributes flooded in for the beloved film star, with fellow actors, celebrities and politicians all paying their respects to him on Thursday afternoon.

Liotta's sudden death shocked fans as he embarked on a huge resurgence in recent years, staring alongside up and coming thespians such as Taron Egerton.

But he was perhaps best known for his incredible performance in Martin Scorsese's 1990 classic Goodfellas, where he played Henry Hill while Robert De Niro took on the role of Jimmy Conway.

I was truly impressed by his performance in an episode of E.R.

OMG! My BFF brought him up to me a couple of weeks ago when we were talking about actors with connections to New Jersey. He was a Jersey boy (born in Newark, raised in Union). Back in the day I used to say (he had a rugged appearance but) I loved his pretty eyes (I'm an eye person). I liked him in whatever I saw him in. I'm sorry to read this. May he R.I.P.

BTW, remember awhile back when people were mysteriously dying while staying in Dominican Republic hotels? I wonder if he had a home there or was staying at a hotel.

These actors, singers, rapers and other assorted "stars" seem to be dying younger and younger every year. I don't know why they are so weak? Whatever happened to their immune system? These young "buckaroos" should be full of zip and vinegar. Most seem to die even before they get those lovely white false teeth the movie stars seem to be showing us. They all seem to die before getting their pensions which, according to my way of thinking, is rather sad and rather unfair! Or maybe they are dying from the shock of having all their teeth replaced? I don't know; it's all "buffalo chips" to me!

Me too, Diva. He had beautiful eyes and I surmise they came from his Scottish ancestors.

Far too young indeed, but you have to pay heed to sensible advice. Whilst cause of death is not clear, lifestyle can certainly contribute. Ray Liotta's fame could make me a whipping boy for daring to suggest that he might have lived longer if he gave up tobacco.

The tobacco companies have caused the untimely deaths of many of my closest friends. They are fully aware of what their product does but the profits that they make are far more important than people's lives.

Yes, they are dying younger. So are non celebrities; a trend I've noticed for several years.
LOL - "Rapers." I think you mean "Rappers." Or....maybe they're one & the same. :giggle:

You're absolutely right Win. I've been noticing for the past few years, young people from our area dying..some in my grandchildrens' age ranges. Some were from violence, some not. I also noticed several reports about young athletes dropping dead on the field, many from previously undetected heart ailments. I believe a couple were from heat strokes because they should not have been practicing outside on such hot days. It breaks my heart every time I see these reports. 😢 @Packerjohn
