Google Tracking Cellphone Location Data Even After It's Turned Off

Yup, just another good argument Against living with a Smart Phone. People who walk around with one of those things attached to their face 14 hours a day have little in the way of privacy. With the Huge amount of data storage, including the Cloud, available to the providers of these phones, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that individual conversations are also being recorded.

About 90% of us have nothing to hide. So google is wasting their time.

They must be very bored by me, 90% of the time I'm in my room, the other 10% I'm either in the john or kitchen.

OTOH, sometimes that tracking thing is a very handy thing to have. I sometimes use the WAZE app or Google Maps as a gps, when driving. Mostly, I use the car's gps, but I suppose that's tracking my whereabouts too. Or you can google things like "nearest pizza restaurant," etc., and it provides an instant answer.

I suppose anything can be misused, though.

Exactly. Plus, like oldal, I have nothing to hide and can't imagine why anyone would care where I am. :D Oh, and if you watch enough "Investigation Discovery," many crimes have been solved with cellphone tower pings, so apparently the cell carriers know where I am, too.
