Got me a new dilemma

Love the '57
Only year they had that body style...along with the '58
Never knew why

I was fond of the hardtops for a very long time
Now? I'm a 2-door post guy
Clean stock (no to little chrome)
Nestle in a sweet (very buildable) 283.....ohhhhh yeaaaahhhh

Found this one with no motor. Still wanted 15k.

Nope. Worst part is wanting that kind of money and the interior still needs a lot of work
I'd keep shopping

There's one out there
with the right price

It can be a bit of a coin toss
Pay a big dollar for one in decent shape (running, no cancer rust, straight bod, etc)
Or
Find a rolling stock for reasonable
Lay out some bucks for tranny rebuild, interior, etc
Oftentimes the fun is in rebuilding
Depending how yer shop is laid out

Yeah, here in Fl. I don't have the shop space I'd need. The prices of those others go from 28k to 57k.
Me, if I was to spend 28k on a car, it would be something like this Rolls. ($28,500) But, "happy wife, happy life" don't you know.

Your wife has EXCELLENT TASTE!
in men too!
The red one at the top!
Doesn't have to be lifted!
or
How about a convertible?

As a teenager, I wanted a 57 Chevy more than anything in the world!

Our first choice was the red drag car at the top. Even bid on it and later, made an offer, but, nothing came of it. Since she already has had 3 convertibles and a couple of stock ones, her heart lean more toward performance oriented ones. Problem today is convert's go for 100k and up unless you want a total project. Heck, her first one was a dandy of a project, but, it only cost $20 back then. (it did however have a 327 engine in it.

I only paid $150 for mine (in the mid-70s), but it was in excellent condition....a little oxidization on the paint is all.

It started having a problem with the brakes that I couldn't fix. I'd have had to completely replace the whole system, and I just couldn't afford that at the time. And every mechanic I talked to offered to buy it rather than fix it for me. I finally took the best offer. I think it was $800. The car just wasn't safe for my kids, you know? If I remember right, I used most of the money to get a '61 Impala.

The cheapest car I ever owned was a little Black second hand Mini 850... it cost me ÂŁ25.... about 40 years ago .... surrisingly it lasted a good year .. enough for me to learn to drive and pass my test in it ..and then it leaked like a sieve from every orifice, and was scrapped, but it did it's job...
