She is very proud of this photo. She is a big advocate of "concealed weapon" on campus by students. She was allowed to have the photo taken, because she graduated and is not longer a student on the campus.

I'll say the same thing I said on the other forum you posted this on....

She could have easily been shot by someone who thought she was a threat....and I'm not anti gun but unless everyone knew it was just for a photo...then risky.

She was proving a point and, as much as the photo has been seen, looks like she done a darn good job of it.

Read what her cap says on the top.

Well even though I'm pro gun, I don't care for it. My oldest grandson is a freshman at Cal Poly which isn't even known as a Party School but there's plenty of drinking going on.

Would not like to see guns on campus...

I gather that this was a planned photo shoot. The campus is a gun free zone for all. I read another article that had some comments from the Police Officer that was involved with the project.

IMO she is too immature to be a gun owner.

I don't believe that her message taunting someone to take her gun does anything to help the majority of responsible gun owners.

The responsible gun owners that I know don't take a gun out unless they intend to use it for some legitimate purpose.

I wonder what her major was. Must be something really dangerous. Or maybe she's pissed off enough people where she needs that protection.

Aunt Bea has a point here.

Her point is for want of a better word. STupid.
Agreed. It’s stupid

I agree with Aunt Bea. So true.
Its not a photo that screams responsibility!

I don't care what the political statement is, there is a time and place for everything. Political statements should be kept out of events ment for every single one there, not one side or change the other sides mind. The students, parents and friends were there to support and celebrate students who completed their schooling, not political statements or speeches.

Tell that same thing to movie and tv stars who use an awards ceremony as a platform for political stuff.

People want to get their feelings out there and don’t care where or how it’s done.
Welcome to today’s world!

That's what I had in mind. I see too many exploit an opportunity for a specific event for something completely different.

Well, there are some very important people in both Santa Fe, Texas and the state of Texas that want teachers armed. Of course, this means teachers that actually can hold a handgun and have no problem shooting someone. Not all teachers believe in guns and/or ownership of them.

As far as students in high school or college "carrying", well, that is a very controversial subject, but I'm positive there are students in both areas that would be 100% capable of "carrying" and "using" if needed.
