Greeting From Maryland

@Aging Audra

Welcome to our group! You must know a ton of children's songs. My own mother and grandmother both taught Kindergarten classes. My mother is quite childlike now at 87 years of age. She has dementia and is in an Elderly Residence.

But the music has stuck with her although her memory is basically shot. She can still play the piano and constantly sings 'If You're Happy and You Know It'...and...'My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean'.

Nice to have another retired teacher on board! :)

@jet Thank You for the welcome

@Beezer Yes indeed, I do know quite the array of children songs. There is actually a fantastic Children's Musician by the name of Laurie Berkner who writes her own children's tunes as well as singing the classic children songs. Thank You for the welcome. Also for your mother listening and playing those songs as they are from her past are very good for her.

@Rossana Thank You for the welcome.

@Paco Dennis Thank You for the welcome from Mid-Missouri.

@Pinky I loved the 43 years I put in as a Kindergarten Teacher. I would have to say the most challenging of the years were when Covid was around and the Online Learning. It was challenging enough for older students, but the little ones like the Kindergarten and the early years it was really a challenge and the parents really had to be involved.

I also love to read and I mostly love reading romance novels.
Welcome, Audra! I love to read too but have never liked romance novels. Welp, I just discovered a new (to me) romance author who I really like: Milly Johnson; right now I'm reading her The Perfectly Imperfect Woman. She's a UK author so sometimes her books are kind of hard to find here in the US but worth it; guess you could call her the romance author for people who hate romances, lol.
