Phoenix, we've had some really weird weather lately. We had a day or so of summer weather. Now we've been experiencing chilly, windy, rainy weather. I've lived in New Hampshire, Ohio, Minnesota (twice), Florida, Maine (maybe I forgot a place or two.) In retrospect, one cold place feels like another. My years in Salisbury NH (near Concord) instilled in me the need to be prepared. We lived 15 miles away from the nearest city. We drove over a lot of big hills, out in the country. We made sure to get gas at the store across the street, because we wouldn't find another gas station for at least 10 miles. After living in NH, I felt prepared for almost anything in MN, ME, etc.

Yes, I love this forum!

Sounds like the weather here. We are breaking heat records on a regular basis, including this last week. Then all at once, like today, it's back to cooler and raining. I've only lived in Oregon. But I've lived in cities of all sizes. At present I live in the boonies. The closest town, pop 150, is two miles away. A town of 1,000 is 14 miles away. I shop for groceries in a town twenty-five miles away. We buy in bulk.

I've been thinking that this forum needs a group for writers, artists and possibly musicians. What do you think? I know there are a number of writers on here.

i'm funny when it comes to my writing. I'm a solo writer. I never mesh well when people try to do "group writing," where people write something and let someone take over.

I don't know if we need to do anything different than what's already done.

I am also a solitary writer. I'm not talking about a group where people ask others for help or share their work. I'm talking about talking to each other about writing things in general. When I have the time I may start a group of like minds.

Hmmm. Good idea Phoenix, room for poets too, I hope.

Of course, poet are writers, last I checked.:) I would like anyone who's into the creative arts. Right now I'm in the process of rewriting stuff and getting it ready to publish, so I'm not sure how long it could be before I'd start a group. Any writer/creative person could do it. I realize that some of this could be addressed in other areas, but there's no need to bore those who aren't interested in this kind of thing.

NancyGA! Thanks. My parents lived in Lilburn GA for a few years before returning to Minnesota! Gail.S! Thanks! Ossian, how's the weather in TN?!

Ron, in Tennessee right now it is 80 degrees and chilly but very sunny. Wed. it was 80 degrees and humid. We get it all here and in the space of a week!

Muffin, thanks for the welcome. Here's a howdy back to you. Phoenix, ok I understand. I'd love to have some friends read some of my stuff, but have been very sensitive to harsh criticism in recent years. Some trolls have literally ripped me apart, emotionally. Shalimar, I'm also a poet, artist and "regular" writer. My writing is "emotionally inspired." That's the best way I can describe it. I just get the inspiration, and run with it.

Welcome to the forum, Ron. 30+ years ago I lived a bit further north on the Mississippi. Like most places, it has changed so much there. Still great though, if you can take the humidity! Stay cool, Ron!

Knightofalbion, thanks. Have a great day.
