Hello, im 62 and wife is 59. we are just starting to explore retirement. Exploring pre Medicare/ retirement health insurance. We have Medica now through work and has been very good. Im ready but wife is apprehensive. we have an excellent Investment person and has explained to us what we can expect out of 401k’s and other investments. Looks good but we are nervous about paying for health care until 65. Love the information here.

Welcome @Winston13! I know what you mean about paying for insurance. I was forced to retire at 62. Fortunately, part of my severance package was 18 months of health insurance. Hubby wasn't working at the time but he went back to work at 55 so I could go on his health insurance when mine ended. I stayed on it until I was eligible for Medicare. He left his job over a year ago so he no longer has health insurance, but he's just turning 60 this year and will just pay out-of-pocket for annual physicals until he is eligible for Medicare. I do wish you and your wife the best possible outcome when you do retire.
