Grocery bill this week was $101.27

My grocery budget is about $300 a month. It helps that I don't eat meat, chicken or fish.
That's my average as well to buy everything I need for running the house including toiletries, plastic trash bags, paper ptorducts, etc. I don't count how much I spend by the week because I don't go every week. Sometimes I go in and pick up less than 10 items - other times, I pick up several bags of things.

I eat meat chicken and fish and god quality food no cheap stuff..... and that's all I spend approx per month..... and everyone here is screamig that people can't afford to eat. There's a food bank in every town...

@debodun ...tea is very expensive I see..... here I buy 80 tea bags for £1.25

I just received what I'll call a "top up" shop via delivery.

It was £40, and it topped up last weeks £150 shop.

I will admit, the order contained 12 Jam donuts. That's 12 donuts for two people.

Because, we all try to eat healthy foods as much as possible, and we know what we should be avoiding. But dammit, we also need to indulge ourselves every now and then.

Yes, I usually shop several times a week. Carry less bags and I'm in no rush and it's good exercise. I enjoy walking the few blocks.

I found that shopping once a month for the bulk of everything has cut down on spending money. We cook from scratch for the most part so we buy very little boxed processed foods. Aldi is where we buy most of our food with some things from Walmart. We also go to the bulk food store for flour, sugar, spices & etc. We also go to the IGA in town for a few incidentals through the month or when they have good sale on.

We had been buying our pork & a side of beef from a friend's dad, but this year we will be passing on the side of beef for the first time in years. Since Hubby has had gastric sleeve surgery, he is eating less so we have a beef to last us until next year.

I don't carry bags.. I take an Insulated wheeled trolley whether I'm going by car or not.... it's actually one of the best things I've ever bought..holds a great deal as well and keeps everything chilled..

I do the same I buy the bulk of my shopping monthly with just a few top ups during the month I lost £150 worth of M&S and Sainsbury food in the crash.... I'd literally just come from the stores when the other car hit me ...I also lost the brand new Insulated trolley I'd just bought for £60 from Costco... thankfully I still had my previous one...

Hmmmm....... Good idea.

Prices are skyrocketing.

2.2kg of chocolate chips at Costco $40
At the supermarket, checking out raisins and sunflower seeds was shocking. The bags were large and prices larger. Will check out another store.

The Farmers Market prices are high. I’ll pay it for top quality items and to support them. It‘s a short season to spoil myself.

Last week I stocked up on coffee at $11 for 340 gm. Normally is $15. Prices just keep going up.

I only shop once per month and then fill in with items that don’t last that long. I eat a small breakfast and a big meal at lunch and then a tiny snack at night. However, I do have company at least once a week and sometimes more often.

I live in an area where grocery prices are high and also all my non-food items are included in the cost so I spend between 300–400 per month.

When we discuss how much is spent on groceries, the cost of any food or drinks eaten outside the home should be included. It’s part of our budget.

Those raisins that I didn’t buy at one store were $6 for 3/4 pound. House brand, nothing special. They must know that we’re moving into baking season.

I didn’t include that into my grocery bill. For a while I was only eating out once or twice a month. However, now that my Social Security has increased and I’m doing consulting work I’m eating out at least once a week and sometimes twice. For me it’s money was spent.
