Half Million Reward for Stolen Dogs

(CNN)Lady Gaga's dog walker was shot and her two French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, were stolen Wednesday night in Hollywood, a source close to the singer tells CNN.

The dog walker is said to be recovering and in good condition, thank goodness!

"Anyone who has the dogs can use this email, KojiandGustav@gmail.com to retrieve the reward."

French bulldogs are very popular these days.
 

All I could find out about a reward was that Lady Gaga was offering one. Nothing about $500,000.00. I could be wrong, though. I seriously doubt there would be that kind of huge reward. That kind of reward would spawn dognappings all over the place. L. Gaga would need a swat team to walk them. You do have to wonder how those dognappers knew they were L. Gaga's dogs. I mean , would you steal Ezra J. Fluggenbottom's "Fluffy".?

It's sad to me that the reward is for the safe return of the dogs, not the capture and conviction of the men that shot the dog walker.

Lady Gaga would never speak that way, not her style.
 
I've read that dog-napping has increased hugely. The demand for dogs, especially pure-bred or "designer" dogs has grown greatly because people are wanting companionship during isolation. The supply is getting low, even for shelter dogs, so some miscreants have seen the opportunity for making good money by stealing and selling dogs.

The sad part is that when people go back to work, many are going to look on their newly-acquired dogs as "liabilities" and the shelters will fill up again. The second or third time a person comes home from work and sweet little Fifi, who was perfectly happy to be a constant companion but who is now suffering separation anxiety, has torn up the couch again and pooped/peed/thrown up all over the house, it'll be back to the shelter for Fifi. The shelters and pet-rescue people are preparing for this.

I'm waiting to hear how she was able to return the dogs, and not be associated with those that took them in the first place ?
 
I'm happy the dogs are back home.

Time will tell regarding other details and if the press shares them, we'll know.
Could be they were advertised and she bought them from a 3rd party.

I wonder if the thieves/murderous criminals were working from a list or exploited an oppurtunity. Some say these dognappings are planned including driving the neighborhood for weeks to figure when to steal them
